Most people confuse dehydrated skin for dry skin, and it's surprisingly easy to do.
It's potentially the biggest misconception people make when it comes to their skin.
So if your skin feels tight, sensitive, itchy, but moisturiser doesn't help, it could be dehydrated.
While the two have very similar symptoms they are quite different, and need different treatment.

Your skin looks dull and tired, so you put together a skincare routine. But anything you put on your skin stings, makes your skin red, and causes breakouts.
This is a trap we see people fall into all the time. You're stuck between trying to improve your skin and making it worse, or leaving it alone and being unhappy with how it looks.
"Is this just how my skin is?"
"Is it always going to be like this?"
"If I just try more products, I'll find the right one eventually, right?"
The answer to all of these questions is most likely: no.
It's not a case of this being your skin now, or finding a miracle product.
It's about something you've been overlooking, which you might not have even known about.
Your skin barrier and skin hydration.
When your skin suddenly changes and becomes easily irritated, it's often a sign of a disrupted skin barrier.
And a disrupted skin barrier leaks water through the surface, leaving your skin dehydrated. This then makes the irritation and sensitivity even worse, in a vicious cycle.
But you can get out of this cycle by restoring your skin's hydration and barrier function:
- In most cases, less is more. Reduce your skincare routine purely to a very gentle cleanser, non-comedic barrier repair moisturiser, gentle hydrating serum, and sun protection
- Reintroduce products slowly as your skin begins to calm, but keep away from strong actives such as retinol at least for 1-2 months
- Speed up and support your skin's recovery with barrier repair treatments like Mesotherapy, and hydrating treatments such as Profhilo

You should definitely pay attention to your skin's hydration if you want to have the best skin you can!
And we don't just mean drinking water. Whilst drinking enough water daily can help with your skin's hydration, it isn't bulletproof.
We lose water through the surface of our skin, and if your skin barrier is disrupted you might be losing quite a lot.
Good homecare products such as hydrating serums, and treatments such as Profhilo are key for dehydrated skin!

Your skin's hydration can have a profound effect on how it both looks and feels. Tightness, sensitivity, aging, and even congestion can all be worsened by dehydration.

This result wasn't just achieved with one treatment, as is usually the case with the most incredible transformations.
No fillers, no filters, no surgery. Just the perfect combination of treatments, done properly:
1. Laser Resurfacing to "reset" the skin. The goal here was smoother skin texture, tighter and healthier skin, and softening lines and wrinkles.
2. Anti-Wrinkle Injections to lift the brows and get rid of deeper stubborn lines and wrinkles.
3. Non-Surgical blepharoplasty on the upper and lower eyes. Reducing excess skin above the eyes for a more "open" and tight eye appearance, and softening the deep grooves under the eyes.

A mother-son clinic debate... but make it regenerative skincare
And to be honest, not much of a debate as they were both aligned in their answers!
Microneedling 9/10
CO2 Resurfacing 10/10
Polynucleotides 8/10 especially as part of a wider treatment plan
Green Peel 10/10 for acne skin, 9/10 for general skin rejuvenation
Of course these are general ratings, and your results really depend on your skin condition and goals ☺️

Have you heard of treatment stacking?
It's not something new, but it is starting to trend in the aesthetics industry!
The idea is to combine treatments that synergise well together 💡
The classic example is exosomes with resurfacing or microneedling. But there are other ideas too...
For example, layering PRP after CO2 laser resurfacing for a hydration boost and improved recovery.
We're 100% in support of treatment stacking, for a better overall result for your time and money 🥰
Well here it is! The power of treatment stacking, with the right treatments combined.
Everything that went into a truly incredible transformation, in such a short space of time 🤗
