Grief has a funny way of finding you in the most ordinary moments 🤍

I knew why I was missing my dad a little more this day.

Watching my eldest go to his first concert with his dad took me straight back to being around the same age and going to see P!nk with mine!!

And I think that’s one of the things I’m still learning about grief… it isn’t always the anniversaries or the obvious days that get you. Sometimes it’s watching your children experience something that takes you straight back to being somebody’s child yourself.

So this was just a very ordinary day. Toddler chaos, flowers, coffee, a nap with Honey, far too much browsing around the shops… and my dad on my mind a little more than usual. 🦋

34°C outside + a 5 month old who decided she absolutely did NOT need a bottle in the middle of the night… just me 🤍 & that’s totally okay!!!

Spend a realistic night with us.. heatwave bedtime routine, trying to keep everyone cool, a random middle-of-the-night wake for cuddles and a slightly earlier start than I would’ve chosen 😂

Baby sleep is honestly just one big guessing game at this point.

POV: your 5 month old decides 3am is actually a perfectly reasonable time for a party 🫠😂

Another realistic night with my 5 month old 🤍 doing everything I can to keep the room cool and dark in this heat… only for her to wake up in the middle of the night VERY ready to socialise.

And somehow she’s the happiest person in the house again by 6am 😂

Please tell me we’re not the only ones currently attending the 3am baby nightclub?!

24 hours away with just my girls 🤍

London → Stockport for a little hotel girls’ night, face masks, far too much luggage, a very exciting event and then all the way back home again 🚆

Having four children means I don’t actually get that many days with just my girls, so this one felt extra special 🥹

Although travelling with a baby means apparently packing as if you’re moving out permanently 😂
