Meet the girls behind Fitness DNA (Dana and Alice)

Alice and I met 12 years ago working as Personal Trainers at one of London’s premier gyms in Battersea and remained close friends ever since. Our passion for exercise and healthy living led us to the idea of creating a fitness blog where we could share our knowledge and expertise with people alike in a fun and creative way. Push - up to downward dog is one of my favourite variations for the upper body and here is why:
- it targets your chest, triceps and core
- it stretches your hamstrings and back
- it instantly turns you into a bad ass

Give it a go! DNA X

With this soup, We are teaming up with the inspirational . An awesome, warming soup for the cold winter in the Northern Hemisphere, and an all round booster for everyone all round the world. This is a delicious, spicy squash soup that you can freeze in portions, to make it quick and easy to defrost and eat if you’re in a hurry. Freezing them in portions also helps reduce waste as you don’t have to defrost the WHOLE lot to just feed you. If you can, use homemade chicken or veg stock to keep it all totally healthy with no nasty additives. Serves 8
2 x onion roughly chopped
4 sticks celery roughly chopped
2 big carrot peeled and roughly chopped
1/2 butternut squash peeled and roughly chopped
4 x gem squash peeled and roughly chopped
1 in ginger roughly chopped
8cloves garlic
1/2 small pumpkin peeled and roughly chopped
2 red chillies (how hot they are is up to you!)
1.5l stock (chicken or veg)

On a medium heat, soften onion, carrot and celery in 2 tbsp of olive oil for approx 7 mins - stir occasionally to stop them burning. Once slightly softened, add the squashes and pumpkin and cook for 5 more minutes. Add garlic, ginger and chilli and cook for further 5 mins. Pour in stock until it just covers the veg and simmer for 30 minutes or until all veg is soft. Let it cool a bit, season with salt and pepper, then blitz with a stick blender until smooth. Check out and give her a follow on Instagram for great recipes to keep you healthy and nutritiously deliciously ready for the next few months x

Today one of my 15 year old clients sent me a picture of what she made herself for lunch, Spinach, Kale, Avocado, pepper, pine nuts, carrots and roasted sweet potato salad. Brain food, to set her up for a full day of home schooling. Full of simple and full of healthy goodness to keep energy up.
So proud of her, and thinking we should all be encouraging brain food at the moment to get through these crazy days of 💜

Whatever you’re seeking is seeking you...

There is direct correlation between what we put out in form of thoughts, words and actions and what we receive back. Call it the law of attraction, boomerang effect or karma.

So sometimes it’s important to find a quiet place to allow ourselves to feel and reflect on what is going on inside. This process is called interoception, it helps us to self-regulate and act like grownups.

Only then we’re in position to help others and be of service. ✨🙏
