In the middle of May I signed up for set out to run and compete the 60miles in June challenge.

It's been a real hard slog, I've run to work most days some I've even run home again, my knees are shot, I've tears/strains in both patella ligaments, as an asthmatic I can't take anti-inflamatories so I just have to get on with it (Hence the blue tape!).

Was it worth...

Of course it was, I set out knowing I'm not a runner, knowing that I might very fail this task. But it was the least I could do.
Back on the first of June running to work nearly killed me, now I'll happily run a 10k without thinking to hard.

I've been given lots of support, I've been told I must be mad, laughed at, cheered on, lent watches coached and given support encouragement, got myself a run buddy, who got me through the worst of it, I've cried that I've run a set distance, that it's hurt, that I've done what I never would have thought possible well not possible for me at least, that. I've had to retrain my body, learn to breathe in a different way.
We've even ran UP BEACON HILL the hardway (Sorry about the wrong turn!)

It may not seem like much, but for a older slightly overweight male, with half a calf on one leg I think I done something good, and maybe, just maybe riased some awreness for ASC.

So I'm asking you now to dig a little more for me, if you can dnoate even just a little before the 30th, myself the NAS and lets be honest every single ASC person out there would really be thankful for it.

I set out with the phrase of "My pain, their gain!" I think it holds true...

It's Day 3...
I'm sat just under 10 miles already, wondered why my legs were hurting now.

Plexus had the oppotunity to attend the London Marathon the biggest MARATHON EVER, in support of the Anthony Nolan Trust... The stories from each of the runners blew my mind. I've met people that without AN wouldn't be here now! What an amazing day, what an amazing charity...
Im planning on support theses runners again next year!
