This year reminded me that good hair takes time. And so does a good life.

Going into 2026 with a calmer approach.
Less rushing. More intention.
Continuing to learn, train, and grow in a way that feels sustainable.

What I’ve learnt in 5 years of running a business.

You can’t do it all.

Quality over quantity, always.

Learning to say no protects both results and hair health.

Bigger isn’t always better. 1:1 work lets me protect my standards.

And rest matters more than we’re taught to believe.

It’s hard work, but totally worth it.

We had so much fun creating this look. hasn’t had her hair coloured in years, and honestly I kept telling her to leave it natural… but then we caved and I’m OBSESSED. So happy we did it!

Being self-employed is honestly one of the best things ever…
but it can also be full-on if you don’t look after yourself properly.

Over the last few years I’ve had to learn (the hard way 😂) what actually keeps me feeling energised, creative and not constantly overwhelmed and I wanted to share it in case it helps another one- business out there.

From slowing down my replies, to actually eating properly, to giving myself breathing room between clients… these small changes have made such a difference to how I feel day to day.

Because the truth is:
You can love your job AND still feel burnt out.
You can be passionate AND still need rest.
You can be self-employed AND not available 24/7.

If you’re running your own business - I see you. It’s a lot!! But it’s also worth it when you take care of yourself as much as you do your clients.
