A Little Salon Update 💗

A little notice to let all my beautiful Glowers know that I’ll be out of the salon from Thursday 27th August.

I’ve finally been given my date for my operation, and I honestly can’t tell you how grateful I am to every single one of you who has kindly swapped, moved and rearranged appointments to help me make this work. 🥹💗

I’m hoping my recovery won’t be too long, and whilst I’m at home I’ll still be answering and responding to messages where I can — but please bear with me if my replies are a little slower than usual. 🙏

I do still have a few spaces available during the week commencing 24th August, so if you’re in need of a last-minute appointment before I’m away, just drop me a message or give me a call and I’ll do my best to get you booked in. 💅🏼✨

✨ So, I thought I’d let you in on my WHY… ✨

Why I love my little business so much, and why introducing Tropic felt like such a natural next step for me. 💚

For years, I worked in community pharmacy, which I genuinely loved. I loved my patients, I loved helping people and I loved providing a service that made a difference to someone’s day.

But, as my family grew, the hours just didn’t fit around family life anymore. And if I’m completely honest, the opportunities for progression and the feeling of being appreciated just weren’t where I needed them to be.

I used to watch some of my friends working in beauty and think, “I could never do that.”

I thought I was a round peg trying to fit into a square hole. 🙈

Then one day, one of my friends said something that really stuck with me. She told me that my attention to detail, my natural ability to make people feel good about themselves, and the way I support, encourage and lift people up was something special.

I thought long and hard about it… and eventually made one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I trained in lash extensions.

That one course led to one day a week working in a salon, which then led to a nail course, followed by pedicures, Swedish body massage and facials. In between all of that, I also trained as a Caflon ear piercer.

And with every new treatment, I fell more and more in love with what I was doing. ❤️

I realised that although I might not have felt like the stereotypical “beautician”, I was actually so much more than that.

I took pride in every appointment. I cared that things were done properly. I cared that my clients got what they wanted. But most importantly, I cared about them.

I remembered birthdays.

I remembered when their children were going to university.

I celebrated pregnancy announcements, engagements, new homes and new kitchens.

I listened on the bad days and the stressful days.

I laughed and giggled with them on the good days.

And whenever someone sat in my chair, I wanted them to feel like, for that little bit of time, nothing and nobody else mattered except them. 🥰

Then came the biggest and scariest decision of my life…

I left the salon and built my own home salon. 🥹

And my beautiful clients supported me, cheered me on, believed in me and pushed me to become the best version of myself and my business.

And that brings me to Tropic. 🌿

When I realised I could continue doing everything I love — caring for people, making them feel good, supporting them and helping them look after themselves — whilst using products that I genuinely love, becoming a Tropic Ambassador felt like a no-brainer.

I get to use vegan, cruelty-free products made with naturally derived, sustainable ingredients, designed to nourish and support healthier skin.

I get to use them within my treatments.

I get to share the products I love with my beautiful Glowers.

And I get to be part of a community with an infinite purpose of creating a Healthier, Greener and more Empowered world. 🌎💚

So, I suppose my WHY is actually quite simple…

I love people. I love making people feel good. I love caring for people. And I love what I do.

And now I get to bring all of that together in one little business that has grown into something I never imagined it would.
