My sister and I are opening our own little studio together, and we’re so excited for this next chapter.

I’m so proud of how far we’ve come in such a short period of time and how much our businesses have blossomed and grown — to the point where we’re now able to open our own studio together.

If younger me could see me now, I honestly think she’d be so proud of how far I’ve come with my business. It definitely hasn’t been an easy journey—there’s been times I’ve struggled, doubted myself, and even felt like I’ve let myself down.

But no matter what’s happened, I’ve always found a way to pick myself back up and keep going. Each challenge has made me stronger, and every setback has taught me something I needed to learn.

I’m not perfect, and this journey is still ongoing, but I’m proud of the progress I’ve made and the resilience I’ve built along the way. If anything, it’s proof that even when things feel tough, you can come back stronger and keep moving forward.

Running your own business isn’t just about the treatments people see 🤍

As a lash technician, it might look like I “just do lashes,” but behind the scenes I’m also managing bookings, replying to messages, handling customer support, creating content, keeping up with social media, ordering stock, doing admin, tracking finances, cleaning, prepping, and making sure every client has the best experience possible.

Being self-employed is far more challenging than most people realise. It’s constant pressure, responsibility, and feeling like everything depends on you. There’s no switch-off, no real separation between work and personal life, and over time that becomes exhausting. Even when things are going well, there’s always something to think about.

Anxiety in this industry is very real and rarely spoken about. There’s pressure to reply quickly, stay fully booked, keep up online, and never let anyone down. I love what I do, but my mind is always in “work mode” — even at night. I’m constantly thinking, replying, planning, or worrying about missing messages.

Recently I’ve been squeezing people in last minute, which has meant sometimes working 2–3 hours past my finish time and still going home to do admin and reply to a high volume of messages. It’s become overwhelming, and over the past few weeks I’ve been dealing with anxiety which is definitely linked to work.

Because of this, I need to set boundaries for my wellbeing.

I will no longer be taking last-minute appointments. Please book in advance using my booking system, it helps you secure your slot and helps me manage my workload better. If the appointment/day you want isn’t available that means im either fully booked or im not working that day.

If you’ve been worried about deposits, I’ve changed it so no money is taken when booking — it will only charge if policies aren’t followed (which you agree to when booking).

I love what I do and I’m so grateful for all my clients 🤍 but I need to protect my mental health so I can continue giving you my best.
