🌿 A little bit about what happens to your hair after you leave the salon…

At Square Roots, we’re proud to use Green Salon Collective, helping us recycle and repurpose some of the salon waste that would otherwise end up in landfill.

✂️ Your cut hair doesn’t simply go in the bin. Depending on its length and type, it can be used for everything from composting and gardening to hair mats and “hair booms” that help absorb oil and pollutants from waterways. Longer hair can also be used for wig making.

♻️ We also recycle our used foils and colour tubes, giving the aluminium another life rather than sending it to landfill. In fact, recycled aluminium uses just a fraction of the energy needed to produce new aluminium.

It might seem like small things, but with the amount of hair, foil and colour waste produced in a salon, those little changes really do add up. 💚

We’re always looking for ways to make Square Roots a little greener, without compromising on the service you love.

To help us continue providing the best service to all of our clients, we will now be taking deposits for all colour appointments lasting over one hour.

When booking, we'll let you know the deposit amount required to secure your appointment.

As a small independent salon, longer colour appointments are carefully allocated within our team's diary. Unfortunately, when these appointments are cancelled at short notice, it can be very difficult to fill that time, which has a significant impact on our stylists and the business.

Your deposit is fully transferable or refundable, provided we receive at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment.
