Take care of your body…ITS AN INVESTMENT FOR SURE 👌
Pilates can help your nervous system. “Pilates has saved me a fair few times over the years when juggling everything, work, family, studies, problems, grief, stress etc”.
For most of us, the fight or flight part of our nervous system, the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) is often very much switched on.
When this is the case and we don't switch off, it isn’t good for our health.
In Pilates, we use our breath fully as it is a fundamental principle of Pilates. We also pay attention to our bodies and the movement and are more focused. This allows us to rest our nervous system and completely switch off for an hour.
This can help us manage our stress levels, may help to improve mental health, sleep, digestion and to give ourselves that much needed self-care.

Pilates and core stability:-
Is the ability of your core muscles (abdominal muscles, hip flexors, glutes, and back muscles) to stabilise your trunk.
It allows you to have better posture and stay upright when you walk, run, cycle etc; and ensures you only move the bits of your body that are needed to be moving.
But why is this even important?
Because……
*Falling over
*Injury
*Pulling your back when you reach for something from a high/low shelf
*Having poor posture and rounded shoulders/tech neck is what we want to prevent if possible!
Core stability supports the spine, also helps us to support daily functional activities, improves confidence, independence and balance as we age. It can also help to improve/manage or prevent back and hip pain.

Mood boosting Pilates….Oh YES 👏
Pilates practice releases feel good endorphins which elevate mood and help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.
Pilates demands focus, allows you to clear your mind and leave a session feeling lighter and more relaxed (getting rid of the noise and all those tabs that are open)
Ultimately, Pilates is self care. You can be as playful as you wish with your movements, listening to the feedback from your body….AND here’s the bonus, you leave feeling stronger, taller, aligned, relaxed and more in tune with yourself.
Pilates can challenge you in new ways. I love it when my clients smile and give that expression of joy as they accomplish and master new moves….THIS has happened a few times this week and is amazing for me to witness 😀 💪
We always feel our best when we’re playful, when we mindfully move our bodies 👌💪

It’s been a great week in class with the Pilates balls, and a fair bit 😬 of balance thrown into the mix 🤣 which is so very important, especially as we age.
Don’t underestimate those small balls 🤪 my Pilates family don’t, yes they are light, but boy they are effective. We love them…..okay maybe some love/hate 🤣 😉
The Pilates ball is our little versatile friend, and it is very effective to enhance our core activation, stability and overall session!
We have been using the ball to create an unstable base, FORCING the body to engage those stabilising muscles 💪
Amazing work everyone 👏 👏 your body will thank you 😀

We have been practicing the teaser this week “Teaser Love” ❤️ amongst lots of other fun stuff in class (rolling/rollover 😉)
The Pilates teaser is an iconic, intermediate/advanced exercise targeting the deep abdominals, hip flexors, and challenging balance. It requires lots of core strength, control, coordination and spinal articulation.
We break it down into small manageable chunks and use props to assist (Bands & Balls). Those small progressions really do help to build strength and confidence.
Well done everyone, whatever modified/advanced level you managed, you’ve done amazing 👏
Consistency and determination will get you there if you’re not already. The beauty of Pilates is that everything can be modified to suit the individual, we’re all individuals at different levels and that is absolutely normal.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone and remember to give yourself some love too ❤️

Hello February 😃 the month of love, love others, love the small blessings in life but more importantly LOVE YOURSELF. 💕💕💕 Tell yourself positive things daily, believe in YOU….take small steps to a happier YOU!!
I am looking forward to longer days and continuing to work with my lovely Pilates family. Getting stronger, more flexible, fitter, healthy and HAPPY 🙌💪
If you’re not sure where to start, don’t over complicate it, just start with anything you like. Start with small movement, going for a walk, take the stairs, leave the car and walk, sit to stands, hold a bottle of water for weights.
Just try and move your body more often and invest a bit of time for yourself and your wellbeing ❤️✌️🙌

From my experience and chats with clients over the years. Most people want:-
➡️ Strength without feeling broken.
➡️ To improve aches and pains.
➡️ A body that feels (and looks) strong.
➡️ To align your body and have good body awareness.
➡️ Improved posture and core strength.
➡️ Move well now and be able to do functional activities with ease…..and still be able to do it in 10, 20, 30 + years time 😉
➡️ To be part of a community, meet new people, be more sociable.
Pilates will help with all this ⬆️👆⬆️👆

This time of year, everyone feels all fired up to achieve their goals, but most people don't follow them through.
Not because they don't care, but because they don’t have the confidence or the right mindset and support, therefore often drifting back to what is familiar.
Motivation feels strong in January. But it fades when life gets busy.
That's why a little structure matters.
👉Get clear on what your goal is, your why and what actually matters in 2026
👉Think about how you are going to feel when you achieve your goal(s) (write it down)
👉Diarise it and it is more likely to happen
👉Stay in your own lane, stop worrying about what anyone else is doing on social media….just stay focused and do you!
Let me know if I can help you with your goals this year. We can arrange to have a chat. [email protected]
Pilates is a great compliment to many sports and helps to enhance performance in different activities and functional daily activities.
