Hiya everyone, I’ve lived in Kearsley now for 14 years, I’ve got a little flower shop on Manchester Road BL48QR Kearsley, we’ve been open 7 years this November, I am not going to fluff this up It’s a tough trade, there is not a great profit margin and it’s a bit like running a fruit and veg shop with perishable goods..

I was considering opening on the new Farnworth Green, unfortunately I lost my brother and mum in 8 months and a member of staff so I felt it wasn’t for me

In the 7 years we have raised our prices by just 10%..

However our suppliers and the cost of living has gone up way way much more..

Our area has become Saturated with Studio/ home/ garage florists.. no over heads like a shop front.

I know you have to start somewhere or decide it’s best for you do it that way, I’m not knocking them but it makes our businesses under valued.

But I wonder where on earth they store their flowers in this heat, how do they account for the money they take. How long can they sustain their little business once the government lower the VAT threshold. How will they hide when business digital ID is compulsory and banks will dob you in..

Good luck to all for your future cause I know. I’ve been there. It’s going to get tough.

I’ve been thinking how to diversify, we have some ideas up our sleeve.
