Post-Op Lymphatic Drainage! Why Is It So Important?

After surgery, your body naturally produces extra fluid and inflammation as it heals. Manual lymphatic drainage can help support your body’s natural lymphatic system, encourage fluid movement and reduce swelling, helping you feel more comfortable during your recovery.

But here’s the important part… one treatment usually isn’t enough consistency especially through recovery is key!

Post-operative lymphatic drainage works best as part of a course of treatments. Your body is continuously healing and producing fluid, so regular treatments can help keep the lymphatic system moving throughout your recovery and help to loosen any tight areas from surgery.

Everyone’s recovery is different, which is why your treatment plan should be tailored to your surgery, your body and how you are healing.

Supporting your body throughout recovery can make such a difference especially when you’re at your most vulnerable.

If you’re recovering from surgery and want to know whether post-op lymphatic drainage could support your recovery, send me a message!

1 Hour Treatment in 2 Minutes

A full hour of treatment condensed into just 2 minutes.

This treatment was a mixture of techniques to help release tension, improve movement and ease tightness, restricted areas, including Deep Tissue Massage and Dry Cupping.

This client was particularly holding a lot of tension through her shoulders and upper back, so we spent extra time working into these areas and tailoring the treatment around what her body needed.

Every treatment is different and completely tailored to your needs and what your body is telling me on the day.

Sometimes your body just needs a little extra attention in the areas that are working the hardest. Message me for availability or more information!

MEN NEED LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE TOO!

Men have a lymphatic system too and it needs looking after!

As we age, lymphatic flow can become less efficient, especially with long hours sitting, stress, dehydration, lack of movement.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle treatment that encourages lymph flow, supports fluid movement and can leave you feeling lighter, less puffy and refreshed.

It’s not just for women men need lymphatic care too.

Not drinking enough? Hydration supports healthy fluid balance.

Sitting still all day? Desk jobs and long periods of inactivity mean less movement to help encourage lymph flow.

Stress & anxiety! Ongoing stress can affect your body in many ways, including fluid balance and digestion stay away from fight or flight mode!

Hormonal changes! Your hormones can influence fluid retention and leave you feeling more swollen or bloated.

This is where Manual Lymphatic Drainage can help!

I’m so excited to share that I’ve completed my post-operative recovery training in manual lymphatic drainage with Jasmina!

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’m so proud to be taking this next step in my journey.

I’ll now be able to support clients through their recovery after surgery, helping them safely and confidently during such an important stage of healing. I’m especially excited to be able to support my mummies after C-sections, starting from just a few days post-op, providing gentle care to aid their recovery and help them feel more comfortable.

Being able to help people when they’re at their most vulnerable is a privilege, and I’m so grateful to have the knowledge and skills to make a positive difference during their recovery.

I can’t wait to begin this new chapter and support even more amazing people on their healing journey.

Thank you, Jasmina, for your guidance and training! #1 LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE | POST OP |WOOD THERAPY TRAINING ACADEMY

3 Signs Your Body Is Crying Out for a Deep Tissue Massage!

Your body is always communicating with you sometimes through aches, tension, and even headaches. Here are three signs it might be time to book a deep tissue massage:

Frequent Headaches
Tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper back can contribute to tension headaches. Releasing tight muscles may help reduce the frequency and intensity of these headaches.

Constant Muscle Tightness & Stiffness
If your neck, shoulders, or back always feel tight even after resting it could be a sign of built-up tension and muscle knots that need releasing.

Ongoing Aches & Pains
Persistent soreness, reduced mobility, or muscles that always feel tender can make everyday life uncomfortable. Deep tissue massage targets deeper layers of muscle to help ease tension and improve movement.

Don't ignore what your body is trying to tell you. Investing in regular massage can help you move better, feel better, and take time for yourself.

On the bed, I’m incredibly thankful for the small business I’ve built, the amazing clients I’ve connected with, and every person I’ve been lucky enough to help mentally & physically.

Off the bed, I’m a busy mum of two trying to juggle life, work two jobs, better myself physically & mentally, keep up with the housework, and somehow stay on top of the endless washing piles😳🤣

Life isn’t always perfectly balanced, and some days feel chaotic… but I’m learning to appreciate how far I’ve come and everything I’m building along the way. 🤍
