“I feel like my skin has suddenly changed. And it’s not just about wrinkles.”
A few years ago, you were using the same skincare products and everything seemed fine.
Today:
• your skin feels tighter and drier more often
• sensitivity appears more easily
• redness lasts longer than it used to
• makeup sits differently on your skin
• your skin seems thinner and more delicate
This is not simply about getting older.
It is often the result of hormonal changes that can begin during perimenopause.
Estrogen influences, among other things:
✔ the production of hyaluronic acid
✔ the skin’s ability to retain moisture
✔ repair and regeneration processes
✔ the function of the skin barrier
That’s why many women say:
“I’m doing everything the same way I always have, but my skin behaves completely differently.”
And they are right.
During this stage of life, it is often necessary to change not only your skincare products, but also the way you care for your skin.
Hormonal changes do not mean that your skin is “going downhill.”
They simply mean that your skin has different needs today than it did ten years ago.

Could your anti-ageing routine be making facial redness worse?
Many people focus on reducing wrinkles, improving firmness and maintaining a youthful appearance.
But what if some of your anti-ageing habits are making facial redness worse?
If your skin is prone to redness, visible capillaries or rosacea, it’s important to remember that not every trend is suitable for every skin type.
Some common examples include:
❄️ Ice facials and ice baths
While cooling the skin may feel refreshing, extreme temperature changes can increase blood vessel reactivity in redness-prone skin.
🔴 At-home LED masks
Many people choose red light or infrared settings for anti-ageing benefits without considering whether those settings are the best option for their skin condition.
🧪 Over-exfoliation
Using acids too frequently can weaken the skin barrier and increase sensitivity.
🧴 Overusing retinoids
More is not always better. For some skins, excessive use may lead to irritation and increased redness.
Healthy ageing and redness-prone skin can absolutely go together.
The key is choosing treatments and skincare that support both your skin concerns and your skin’s individual needs.
Anti-ageing should never come at the expense of skin health.

5 mistakes that can make facial redness worse
Treść
Many people focus on treating redness but unknowingly make it worse through everyday habits.
If your skin is prone to redness, visible capillaries or rosacea, these are some of the most common mistakes I see:
❌ Skipping SPF on cloudy days
❌ Using harsh scrubs or over-exfoliating the skin
❌ Washing the face with very hot water
❌Ignoring early signs of skin sensitivity
❌ Spending long periods in direct sunlight
Facial redness rarely appears without a reason.
Understanding what triggers your skin is often the first step towards reducing sensitivity, supporting your skin barrier and achieving healthier-looking skin.

Why does facial redness often get worse during summer?
As temperatures rise, many people notice their skin becoming more red, reactive and sensitive.
This is especially common in skin prone to redness, visible capillaries and rosacea.
Here are some of the main reasons:
☀️ Increased UV exposure
Sunlight can trigger inflammation and make redness more noticeable.
🌡️ Higher temperatures
Heat causes blood vessels to dilate, often leading to flushing and persistent redness.
🏖️ More time outdoors
Holidays, gardening, walking and outdoor activities increase exposure to both heat and UV radiation.
❄️ Frequent temperature changes
Moving between hot outdoor temperatures and air-conditioned environments can make reactive skin more sensitive.
💧 Dehydration
Warm weather can increase water loss from the skin, leaving it feeling more vulnerable and easily irritated.
If your skin is prone to redness, summer skincare should focus on protection, hydration and supporting a healthy skin barrier.
Have you noticed your skin becoming more red during warmer weather.

What Does a Skin Therapist Really Do?
Many people think my job is simply to perform treatments.
In reality, that is only a small part of what I do.
My role is to help you maintain healthy, resilient skin and preserve its fresh, youthful appearance for as long as possible.
Skin that not only looks good today, but continues to look healthy and vibrant in 5, 10, or even 15 years’ time.
That is why I don’t focus solely on choosing a treatment.
I start by understanding your skin.
I assess its condition, identify its strengths and weaknesses, and look for the underlying causes of concerns rather than simply treating the visible symptoms.
Whether it’s pigmentation, loss of firmness, redness, sensitivity, dehydration, or premature ageing, there is always a reason why the skin behaves the way it does.
Once I understand the bigger picture, I create a personalised treatment strategy tailored to your skin’s needs, lifestyle, and long-term goals.
Sometimes this involves advanced professional treatments.
Sometimes a series of smaller, carefully chosen steps can achieve better results than chasing the latest skincare trend.
Most importantly, I monitor your progress.
As your skin changes, your treatment plan should evolve too.
Because effective skin therapy is not about having a favourite treatment.
It’s about making the right decisions for your skin.
If you want expert guidance, a long-term approach, and support in maintaining healthy, radiant skin for years to come, working with a Skin Therapist can make all the difference.
I don’t sell treatments.
I help women make better decisions for their skin - decisions that continue to benefit them for years, not just for the next few days.

Not everyone wants or is able to have regular facial treatments. And that’s completely okay.
Does it still make sense to have 3–4 treatments a year? Absolutely.
Of course, they won’t deliver the same results as a consistent treatment plan combined with a good home skincare routine. They won’t stop the ageing process either. However, they can still help your skin stay in better condition over time.
Even a few treatments a year can help to improve hydration, restore radiance, support skin renewal, boost circulation, strengthen the skin barrier and address concerns such as dullness, congestion or seasonal dehydration. They also give you the opportunity to assess your skin’s changing needs and adjust your skincare routine accordingly.
And let’s not forget something equally important.
A facial treatment isn’t only about the skin itself. Taking an hour out of a busy schedule to relax, switch off and focus on yourself can have a real impact on your overall wellbeing. When we feel less stressed, more rested and more balanced, it often shows in our appearance too.
Sometimes the greatest benefit isn’t just healthier-looking skin, but simply giving yourself permission to pause and recharge.
Skincare isn’t always about perfection. Sometimes it’s simply about doing what is realistic and achievable for your lifestyle.
A few treatments a year is still far better than none at all.
Your skin will remember the care you give it. While occasional treatments may not create dramatic transformations, years of completely neglecting your skin can leave a much bigger mark than many people realise.
A little professional care a few times a year is always better than waiting until you wish you had started sooner.

Pigmentation is often more complex than people think.
In many cases, the sun is not the only problem.
Very often pigmentation appears when UV exposure interacts with:
• hormones
• inflammation
• certain medications
• some herbs & herbal teas
• perfumes applied directly onto skin
• active skincare ingredients
• damaged or irritated skin barrier
This is why two people can spend the same amount of time in the sun - and only one develops pigmentation.
The skin’s level of sensitivity matters.
Ingredients like retinol/Vitamin A or strong acids are not “bad”, but without proper skin protection they may increase UV sensitivity and make pigmentation management more difficult.
Pigmentation prevention is not only about avoiding sunlight.
It’s about understanding what may be making your skin more reactive to sunlight in the first place.

One of the most common things I hear is:
“My skin was improving…
and then suddenly it stopped.”
But skin doesn’t improve in a perfectly straight line.
The skin adapts.
Needs change.
Timing matters.
Consistency matters even more.
This is why good skin results usually come from a structured plan - not random treatments done whenever the skin feels worse.
Healthy skin takes patience and a routine that evolves with the skin’s needs.
Real progress usually comes from understanding the skin deeply - not constantly chasing something new.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned after years of working with skin?
People often think they need stronger treatments. But very often, the skin is simply tired.
Tired from:
switching products too often
trying every trend
overdoing actives
expecting the skin to constantly tolerate more
Good skin work is not about pushing the skin to its limits. It’s about knowing when to stimulate it…
and when to leave it alone.
Not every skin needs “more”.
Sometimes it needs someone who understands when to stop.
