Welcome to our quirky world of sheep, cows, brewing beer and generally trying to sustain a life with our kids on the farm
we invite you through the farm gates to experience a little of our random life and to taste our scrummy ales. In the southern hills of the peak district, on a working beef and sheep farm, Ian is converting the old milking parlour into his very own ale producing laboratory. Ian is a pharmacist by trade, a self taught builder, plumber, electrician and farmer. Jen is 3rd generation farmer on Lydgate farm, meal producer, washer woman and a generally disorganized mess. Fran and Max are instigators of trouble, mess and mayhem. (children)

And that’s a wrap for 2026 folks. What a summer we have had. Thank you so much to all our solid regulars as well as all the new Bob ins that visited., you have made it spectacular.. the sunshine helped too!
The biggest thankyou goes to our amazing AAA team. Always on top form and fully loaded with enthusiasm to make this work, me and Ian know how lucky we are to have you and we just couldn’t do this without you. Love you all!
See you all in June 2027.. if not before at a market or over at The Farmacy in Matlock.

Second day of the B**r Fest, and our final day of summer here up at the brewery bar. It’s been a flipping blast. Great turn out yesterday despite the awful weather. Looking a bit brighter today. B**r, grub and live music. **rfestival

Our annual B**r Fest is here! This Saturday and Sunday from mid day. B**rs are all here, racking them up today! Loads of ciders too..

Only a couple of normal weekends (as normal as we get) to go till our end of season b**r fest party! What an amazing summer we have been having!
Open 12 till 8 sat and sun this weekend and next, then the august bank hol 29th and 30th we will be ending the summer on a high!

Can you believe it.. it’s almost time for our ever popular B**r and Shear! Sunday 26th July.. a week to go!
Just turn up for camping.. and there’s a bit of availability on the glamping too..
come and join us to watch these amazing lads and ladies compete for shearing glory! Awesome day out!
We will have on before from 1pm and Callum Jones on after to give us some tunes. BBQ 12 till 5 the wood fired pizzas from Alice and the team after that. The bar will be stocked up ready and the bar team raring to go!
