Hi, I’m Debs, creator of XOX Happy Skin. I am a small, independent business based in Warwickshire and it really means a lot to me!
My story: I’ve loved skincare since I was in my early 20s (now, I’m 51 eek!!) and I dread to think of how much my best friend and I have spent over the years on big name brands. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I really started to look at the ingredients that went into all the lotions and potions. After researching lots of the scientific names (in the UK, that is all that legally needs to be listed) I was shocked at just how much water was in most of the products, as well as all the preservatives, synthetic, artificial fragrances and chemicals!! So, just over 2 years ago, I decided that I wanted to start making my own moisturizing creams, with no water, only using the best ingredients I could find. I completed an aromatherapy diploma at that time, so that I could understand how and which essential oils can benefit the skin.
It has taken over two years of extremely hard work to get where I am and launching my first products on etsy. I have a valid CPSR's (Cosmetic Products Safety Report) from a chemist for all of my recipes and am fully insured so you know that you are using something which is completely safe.
Made fresh in small batches, all my products are skin loving, 100% natural and I only use the best plant based butters, oils and essential oils I can find. Organic where possible. My products are made with love and are vegan, cruelty free and contain no parabens, palm oil, chemicals or anything synthetic. As the moisturisers contain no water, the jar is full to the brim with pure goodness. A little goes a long way, a pea size amount is all you need!
Amber jars protect the products quality and freshness as they substantially absorb any UV light. You do however, need to keep your creams away from direct sunlight and heat as they may melt.
We all know how stressful it has been for everyone since March 2020 and this stress can really take its toll on our skin. It has been a pleasure to create these recipes and my friends and family (my hooman guinea pigs, as I like to call them 🙂 have loved receiving them as gifts over the last 2 years while I have perfecting them. I really hope that you are going to love them too. I am so happy to have finally got to this stage and signed off by a chemist.
