Master the Hooded Eye Wing: A Step-by-Step Guide
​The look we’re aiming for, based on our final reference, is a sharp, defined black wing that complements hooded eyes.
You can achieve this using a liquid eyeliner, a gel liner, or a very opaque black eyeshadow with a fine-angle brush.

Part 1: Mapping the Wing
​Look Straight Ahead: This is the most important step for hooded eyes.
Do not tilt your head back or look down into your mirror.
Your eye needs to be in its natural, relaxed position so you can see exactly where the skin folds.

​Find Your Angle: Use a brush handle or a piece of tape to line up the outer corner of your eye with the end of your eyebrow.
This is the general direction your wing should follow. A lift in this direction helps counteract the "downturned" look that hooded eyes can sometimes have.
​Draw Your Guideline: Starting at the outer corner of your eye, draw a thin line angled upwards toward the tail of your brow.
Make this line as long as you want your wing to be.​

Part 2: Constructing the Shape
​Connect and Fill: Starting about a third of the way up the guideline you just drew, connect it back to your upper lash line with a very thin line.
This creates a small triangle shape.
​The Folds: Here is where the technique for hooded eyes differs.
If you were to continue this line in a straight diagonal, it would disappear or look crooked when your eye is open.

Part 3: Refining for the Hood (The "Bat Wing" Technique)
​Close Your Eye Slightly: Now, slightly close or look down into the mirror to see the fold.
​Create the Bridge: Instead of making one straight diagonal line, you are going to draw your wing so that when your eye is relaxed and open, the line "bridges" over the fold.

​The "Bat Wing": Look straight ahead again. Start connecting the outer tip of your wing back to the center of your lash line.
When you get to the point where your eye folds, slightly dip the liner.
It will look like a very shallow "U" or "check mark" shape (like a bat wing!) when your eye is open.
This shape allows the wing to maintain its trajectory even with the excess skin.
