✨ A little reintroduction…

I’m Emma Sheppard, owner of Somerset Beauty Clinic.

I’ve been working in the beauty industry since 1992, and after more than three decades, I still have the same passion for learning, growing and helping women feel confident in themselves.

I first trained in Permanent Makeup and Microneedling in 2015 and quickly became fascinated by creating natural-looking brows. However, my PMU journey wasn’t always straightforward.

Around that time, I experienced a deeply traumatic period in my personal life that affected every part of me. Whilst navigating some of the hardest years I’ve ever known, I lost confidence in myself and in my PMU work. I also found myself questioning the techniques I had originally been taught because I wanted to create brows that looked softer, more natural and truly timeless.

In 2019, I made the difficult decision to step away from Permanent Makeup altogether.

For the next few years, I continued running my beauty business, focusing on treatments that felt familiar and safe whilst I slowly rebuilt myself. Looking back, those years taught me resilience, patience and the importance of healing.

Then in 2023, something shifted.

I knew I wasn’t finished. I still had the desire to create, to learn and to become the artist I knew I could be. So I retrained, investing in advanced education in brows, lips and eyeliner, including training with the incredibly talented Westerham Permanent makeup Naomi Harriott.

Today, I feel more confident in my skills than ever before. Not because the journey has been easy, but because of everything it took to get here.

I love creating natural, beautifully balanced brows, elegant eyeliner and soft lip blush treatments that enhance rather than overpower.

My journey has shaped who I am—not just as an artist, but as a person. It has taught me strength, compassion and perseverance.

For anyone rebuilding their confidence, starting again, or finding their way back to themselves, keep going. Sometimes the hardest chapters become the reason you discover what you’re truly capable of.

From old tattooed brows to soft, natural hair strokes… this transformation has been worth the wait. ✨

After a laser removal journey that began last November, my gorgeous client finally has the beautiful, natural hair stroke brows she deserves. 🤍

The goal was never just to create new brows—it was to restore them in the right position, following her natural brow shape and enhancing her features in a soft, natural way.

There are still a few stubborn areas of old pigment sitting above the brow (not my work), so we may choose to do another laser session in the future to soften those further. But for now, just look at this transformation. ✨

Corrective work like this takes patience, planning, and trust, which makes the final result even more rewarding.

I absolutely love how these brows have turned out and feel so privileged to have been part of my client’s journey. 💕

We laser removed my clients old patchy brows so we could begin with a blank canvas.
Luckily the laser only needed one session.

We then created some beautiful fine hair strokes along with shading in some sparse areas.
I think you’ll agree these new brows are so natural and suit my clients features. They are the perfect enhancement to what my client already had, but now she can enjoy that extra time in the mornings to not need to painstakingly pencil her brows in every day.

This transformation shows:
➡️ Before — previous PMU brows that had faded unevenly over time. We removed the old ashy tone with laser removal which has subtly faded to a warmer tone that will blend more naturally underneath our new hair stokes.
