2023... a little recap and round up!

It's been a funny old year for me, one that in so many ways I'm ready to put behind me, but will also lay the path for what I know is going to be an amazing, happy future. I've experienced massive lows but also the most amazing highs.

Running a wedding business since covid hit has been really strange. Suddenly, the patterns you are used to seeing in your business have shifted. Your clients are looking for different things, and you need to keep up and know what they are. Social media is an ever changing game, too, and one that continues to add pressure on small businesses like mine, to try to offer something different or compete with the competition... which inevitably feels really daunting and puts you off entirely. In January, we decided we would move our life to West Somerset. It was exciting and scary in equal measures, but it also meant I parked elements of my business while we tried to sell the house and got ourselves settled down here. It was the right thing to do at the time, but I've since had to work extra hard to get my little business seen, especially in my new area. But it's getting there, and my 2024 diary is looking lovely and healthy with lots of booked in 💗

I've worked at 20 gorgeous weddings this year, and each and every one has been a delight, and it has reignited my love for my makeup work. I'm really hopeful that our new home (wherever it might be) will give me the chance to have a beauty space at home. Watch this space. 🙏

2024 is about focusing on what I love doing in my business and sharing my expertise around this. You'll see more tips, more reels, and more me (soz). I'll also be bringing back my newsletter, which features tips, favourite products, and Body Shop offers. I've been blogging a lot in 2023 for my other business and will be sharing some of those blog posts with you on this page as there's some really handy hints if you're in the midst of wedding planning, or you're looking for inspiration.
