Sometimes a nail can look quite different depending on the angle we see it from.

That’s why during a foot health appointment, I don’t just look at the colour of the nail. I assess the nail plate, its structure, how well it is attached to the nail bed and whether there are any areas that may need professional care.

In this case, cleaning and reducing the affected nail allowed us to see much more clearly what was happening underneath and to remove compromised, detached nail where appropriate.

Changes in toenails can have many different causes, so it’s always worth having them properly assessed rather than simply covering them up or ignoring them.

Nail transformation – before and after ✨

Short natural nails were extended using paper forms and shaped into a soft, elegant almond.

A delicate milky pink shade, iridescent flakes and a subtle floral detail created a light and feminine finish 🌸

Extensions on paper forms allow the length and shape to be carefully adapted to the natural nail plate, without using ready-made tips.

🦶 This was not a regular pedicure — it was professional foot health care.

The patient came to me with noticeably dry, thickened skin on the heels and in the areas of the foot under the most pressure.

During the appointment, I carefully assessed the condition of the skin, safely removed the excess hard skin, and smoothed the feet. The difference can be seen straight away — the skin is smoother, softer, and more comfortable. 💚

Changes like these are not always only a cosmetic problem. If left untreated, hard skin can become worse and may cause discomfort, burning, or even painful cracks.

💚 Green nail bacteria? Don’t cover it up!

My patient came in for a regular gel nail infill, from another salon but , during the appointment I noticed a green discoloration under one of her nails, which is a common sign of a bacterial infection.

Instead of covering it with another gel application, I carefully cleaned the nail and explained how to look after it at home.

Sometimes the best treatment is to take a break from nail enhancements and focus on restoring the health of the natural nail. With the right care and by following professional advice, the nail can recover well.
