And that’s a wrap! 👏🏼 Today was my last day of college for the year and what a year it has been…

This has been without a doubt the most challenging but rewarding course I’ve ever completed. These last 9 months I’ve dedicated myself to it and worked my bloody arse off but it’s all been worth it as I officially have my HNC in Beauty Therapy!

I’ve had so many achievements this year but my highlights have to be that I’ve been awarded an A for my Graded Unit and I achieved 100% on all 4 closed-book Anatomy and Physiology exams we had to take this year 🥳 And to top it all off, I found out today that I have been nominated for STUDENT OF THE YEAR!!!

It’s been the most intense and full-on course but I couldn’t be prouder of myself for how hard I’ve worked and the achievements I’ve made! I’ve also met some amazing people along the way who I couldn’t have done this course without!

I also want to give a special thank you to my mum Fiona Gibson and my sister Jordan McCallum for giving up your time to continually come into the college week after week to be a client for my practical exams.

I can’t wait to enjoy my summer holidays and here’s to doing it all again in September for my HND 😅

Last week of college before the summer so getting the final bits done!

What a year it has been! Without a doubt the hardest but most rewarding course I’ve ever done. Looking forward to having the summer off to rest then back to do it all over again for my HND 🤓

I wanna say a huge thank you to everyone who came along on Thursday to be a client for me for my Graded Unit 🥰

For our Graded Unit, we were tasked with running our own salon for a day. I was so excited for this project as it’ll give me the necessary skills and experience I’ll need for when I one day open my own salon! 💅🏻 It was a busy day (and I had a nightshift to do after it 🤦🏼‍♀️) but it was a successful day and I’m so grateful that all my clients provided such wonderful feedback, so thank you all again ☺️

Allow me to introduce myself 🙋🏼‍♀️

My name is Lindsay, I’m 31 years old and I’m a beauty therapy student.

After working various different jobs over the last 14 years and never feeling fulfilled in any of them, last year I finally took the plunge and decided to chase my dream of becoming a self-employed Beauty Therapist.

I applied and was accepted onto the HNC Beauty Therapy course at Perth College UHI which I started in September 2024. My plan is to complete my HND next year and once I’ve graduated, I plan on continuing to work part-time at my current job whilst I grow my business and hopefully in the future I will be able to make this business of mine my sole job!

I created this page for my future business but have decided to start posting now to share my college journey so I want to say a huge thank you for being here to share it with me ☺️

It’s been a challenging but rewarding journey so far and I’m excited to see what the future holds!

My first ever set of gel nails 💅🏻 Today at college we did a gel polish manicure for the first time so I’m pretty chuffed with this as a first attempt! ☺️
