I was told I may never regain full movement in my right hand.

At 6 months… I got it all back.

But that wasn’t the hardest part.

The hardest part was rebuilding everything after.

I changed everything… apart from the building.

Went from all beauty treatments to fully niching down into skin.

Built on years at Matfen Hall, cosmetic skincare counters, and education in anatomy, physiology, dermatology modules and microbiology.

Then came the real test… returning to work and rebuilding confidence from the ground up.

And I did it.

So when I say… I’ve done it once… I can do it again.

I don’t wear makeup now.

There was a time I had acne, pigmentation marks and texture that I felt like I constantly had to cover. I’d put makeup on just to feel like I looked “put together”.

Microneedling changed that for me.

I’ve already trained in microneedling, microneedling with Exobooster, and Pro Pen microneedling through Dermalogica, and this Wednesday in Glasgow I’m going on another course as part of the Dermalogica Expert Microneedling Programme, focusing on microneedling for acne scarring. I’ll be training with one of my Dermalogica besties too
And honestly now my skin is just… calmer. It’s smoother, it looks clearer, and I get far fewer breakouts than I used to.

It wasn’t instant and it wasn’t perfect, but over time my skin started to settle. The pigmentation faded, the texture improved, and I stopped feeling like I needed to hide behind layers of makeup.

And that’s the part I didn’t expect.
One day you just stop reaching for it out of habit.

That’s the bit I love.
Not perfect skin, just skin I feel confident in.
