🚨 THIS SCARES ME 😳
Not because people don’t care…
But because so many nail techs are never taught what they should know before working on real clients.
I know… nail and skin conditions aren’t the most exciting topic. 🥱
But they could be the difference between protecting your client… or putting them at risk.
I’ve already come across around 7 nail conditions in just four years as a nail tech, and every single one reminded me why education matters.
That’s exactly why Meg (MSK Nails Shop ) and I have been working on something behind the scenes… 🤭

I have been feeling a bit crap lately around my work as a nail technician, I entered a few competitions and received feed back that seemed so silly for the categories I entered.
Such as not being on enough social media platforms?
Since when did being a creative and be recognised for being creative mean we need to have a podcast, YouTube channel, discord, Snapchat, Facebook, instagram, TikTok ect ?
So when messaged me asking if I have considered entering I politely declined and discussed how I don’t want to take any more hits this year being told my work is “ok” and that I need a better social media following 🫠
I confirmed I do not want to enter a competition and get a certificate just because I’ve paid and that I truly love what I do and won’t sell myself out for any award.
After having a chat with them they went away and reached back out and confirmed I have been pre approved as a finalist in Nail art Specialist of the Year 2026.
Well in that case I will enter because even if I don’t win (which I would bloody love to) I know my work and myself have been valued for what we are even if it is just a finalist, it’s a step forward 🤍🫶🏼
