First up in our Meet The Team series is the boss herself… Sophie Davies of Il Capo Barbiere 💈

A few things you might not know about Sophie 👇

• She’s a third-generation barber, carrying on a family trade that goes all the way back to her grandfather Bill Davies, who opened his Newcastle-under-Lyme shop in 1949.

• “Il Capo” translates to “The Boss” — a nod to her family roots and grandfather’s legacy.

• Sophie has over 20 years in the barbering industry and started training young alongside her dad, Joe Davies.

• She helped build the shop into what it is today with the support of friends and family during some seriously challenging years for independent businesses.

• Sophie and her dad even featured in a story connected to BBC One’s “The Repair Shop”, sharing part of their barbering history.

If you’ve ever sat in Sophie’s chair, you’ll know it’s never just a haircut — it’s good conversation, plenty of laughs, and someone who genuinely cares about every person walking through the door.

Why did the chicken cross the road?…To get to the barber shop! We had a visit today from We told them we are pet friendly so they kindly brought in one of their chickens to say hello. Safe to say it was a hit.
