CLOSED FOR NOW:

Hello my loves, just a quick message to say that I will be closed for a few months from June. My Endo has finally (after a blissful 5 years of very little issues) decided to flare up in a way that it hasn’t for a really long time.

As always the fatigue is the worst bit and I am struggling to physically manage all the aspects of the business that run outside of sessions. I am also experiencing pain in a way that is no longer manageable which has thrown me if I am totally honest.

I wholeheartedly love working with my clients and I am hoping that after some more discussion with my surgeon around options for next steps that I will be able to move forwards again with sessions.

I’m also just going to take this break as a time to really consider how the business would and could look alongside managing a chronic condition that supports me and allows me to thrive within a world that is becoming increasingly expensive and volatile.

I’ll continue to share a newsletter and I’m feeling more and more drawn to continuing with the group circle work. The support and energy that comes from gathering together is a wonderful space to build community and see how much support can be felt when people come together to be heard and held.

Sending you all a huge amount of gratitude and love for the last couple years and I will return in whatever format emerges from this next phase of my life.

APRIL: case study

ESSENCE: discovering the core of what is important to you.

As we move into April the light is changing, the trees are growing like crazy and we’ve already had the joy of cherry blossom and magnolia bursting to life. What better time than to start examining what is important to you and your own growth?

I’ve had some wonderful sessions with clients this last month, supporting emotional and physical awareness as we work with pain and addressing a deep desire to be held and cared for, supported and heard.

Embracing what is important to me, I am looking at the way I can support you best. Regular sessions working with a specific goal, is a big one for me. Supporting you to get to a point where you are living more easily in your body and experiencing it in a way that feels good to you. Learning to understand the language of your body and its reactions, gaining self awareness around what has an impact on you and how to have an influence on it in return.

Drop me a message to talk about how holistic bodywork can support you.

BLOSSOMING: I love this time of year when little signs of life start showing up in the trees. Daffodils are blooming and snowdrops and crocus are in full swing.

Where in your own life can you see gentle growth, openings or small blossoms bloom as we begin to see winter coming to a close?

For me my sleep begins to change at this time of year. I find mornings easier and I wake happily to birdsong and the gentle glow of morning light. It feels like an ease is happening and energy is beginning to shift.

Big changes aren’t necessary all the time. Noticing the small shifts is a really wonderful way connect to the everyday, what feels super achievable and lets you connect to your needs.

RITUAL:

Surrendering to a blustery evening and a head full of ideas.
I love working with card decks in the way they are intended but I REALLY love working with them in the ways they speak to me intuitively.I’ve stopped just reading the books that come with them, looking for someone else to tell me what it is that I need and I trust my gut reaction as I look at the imagery and words on the cards themselves.

When I choose cards from a deck I work with the same intention I use when working with reiki.
What is it I need to hear, what do I need to feel and what do I need to heal? My intention is always to work with curious kindness and love both with clients and with myself.

Tonight I sit in a circle of one with myself and ask these questions aloud. I light a candle to bring focus to my head, heart and body. I sit with the answers and knowing that sometimes there is only silence or sometimes an image or strong felt sensation in the body.
I then place my hands on my body, in a self practice of reiki feeling warmth and energy begin to flow. I look for the resistance or discomfort and I settle in to spend time with the parts of myself that need tending.

Bringing ritual into my practice of self-enquiry started in lockdown and feels important. It has helped me to engage with the natural world and go through a similar process working with found objects on walks and working with living meditation where we speak to the natural world and ask for guidance.

I deeply believe that when we tune into our body, our connections to self, each other, and our environment, there are no questions that we cannot answer for ourselves.

I will be bringing this type of enquiry into the work I am developing for clients over the coming months. Spring will be glorious and full of deeply inquisitive work.

Tonight I will be working with the cards ‘story’ and ‘first love’ and tomorrow I will continue this practice as I travel home and take time to go and walk by the sea and expand my relationship to these gorgeous cards. (Water could arguably be classed as my first love.)

SURRENDER : to inner guidance.
As we move into March the theme for this month will be around surrendering to inner guidance, wisdom, knowing... Whatever language feels best for you, beginning to listen to that inner voice is so important to making the choices in life that matter most to us. It lets us get to know, and then meet, our needs and create strong boundaries. It allows us to show up authentically, rooted in a foundation that is so solid we cannot be swayed by the influence of others (unless we want to be).

This month we will begin to explore listening to inner guidance, what that can look like and feel like and how it can be cultivated. Where we may find there is initially silence or confusion, we can begin to build clarity and connection.

Gentle curiosity with a tonne of compassion and love is how we begin to hear our inner wisdom and then work with it to build a relationship with our emotional, physical and energetic body that feels good. Working with the body directly is a wonderful way to tap into that curiosity and feel held to begin to explore that relationship for yourself.
