But what exactly are jowls?

Jowls are the areas of skin and soft tissue that begin to descend along the jawline as we age. They typically start to become noticeable from our late 30s onwards, although genetics, weight fluctuations, sun exposure, and lifestyle factors can influence when they appear.

As we age, several changes happen:

✨ We lose collagen and elastin, causing skin to become less firm.
✨ The fat pads in the face shift downwards.
✨ Bone volume gradually decreases, reducing structural support.
✨ The skin and tissues begin to sag under gravity.

The result? A softer jawline and the appearance of jowls.
