Kehinde & Ryan, and my first visit to Morpeth Town Hall 🥰🥰 Kehinde actually messaged a week before the wedding asking if I was free. I had another ceremony on the same day, but the universe aligned and I managed to race across Northumberland to make it 🙏 So glad I did - what a lovely couple, and how lush is Morpeth Town Hall? I've walked past so many times and never would have thought this gorgeous room was upstairs 📷🥹

Mr and Mrs Shaw, and the first glimmers of autumn 🍂🍁 This ceremony truly had me in tears from the start. I'd just about recovered by the time we got outside for these portraits 📸🫣 The golden light, the yellow in the trees picking up James’ tie, the bouquet… this colour theory is making this photographer very happy 🍁🌥💛😂

As I near the end of my 12th wedding season, it becomes clearer every year what my favourite weddings, and galleries, look like 🌸😍 And by that I don't mean the most expensive wedding, the most glamorous venues etc 👀 My favourite photos and the ones that really mean something, are usually the ones found in the little in between moments. Part of my job is to notice things - it's those moments you might miss, or little glimmers of beauty in an ordinary moment. They're often the photos that end up being couples' favourites - but they're the ones you'll never see in a Pinterest board, because you can't script them. If you have a wedding day with a bit of room to breathe ie: a schedule that isn't absolutely jam packed, there's more space for these moments (and opportunity for me to be there to capture them) 🌺🪩
Oh, and no wedding will ever be perfect. And that's fine. No wedding has ever stuck to the timeline or had everything go according to the plan, but don't sweat it. On the day, all that matters is that your people are there and you're doing it your way. Basically, the best atmosphere (and photos) usually comes when you stop trying to control it too much, and just let the day happen 💍🫶🏼🎉

When you first start planning a wedding, I think there are some misconceptions about what wedding photography has to be, or what you have to do. Granted, if you want a more traditional approach, some of these may be true. But this is how we do it round here.. 💍 🖤📸
Your photos should fit around your wedding, not the other way around ✌️
