Defined Curl Transformation

Having thick hair is a blessing, but sometimes it can be difficult to manage, especially with naturally loose curls. The client loves curls, however he wanted a polished look, so I did a perm to create tighter, well defined curls. Now the hair has beautiful definition, is easier to manage and has all the bounce and texture he was looking for.

Textured Precision

As you can see in the before photo, the hair was very heavy on the top, but very little expression. The goal was to remove heaviness while creating a texturized top full of movement and styled forward for a more modern feel. A clean fade completes the look giving it a comtemporary finish. Styled with a matte product make it look clean, modern and so easy to style.

This beauty came in for a cut and blow dry.

Her hair was gorgeous - lovely, thick, and in a good condition - but all one length, flat and lacking expression.
We agreed on just a trim to remove split ends, added long layers through the back, and a soft face-framing to bring movement and shape back.
and to finished, I give her a bouncy blow dry to give her beautiful hair the live and volume it truly deserves.
End result: the hair looks even more healthy but with a brand new vibe.

This curly hair cut clients wish was to keep the length but to give them shape, definition and volume in the roots.
From the before picture, is easy to see that her hair was much needed of love and attention and for what was discuss during the consultation it had been a long time since her last hair cut because last salon visits often let her feeling frizzy and uncomfortable with the results.
The consultation was also a time to tell her how to manage her curly hair specially being that long:
- brushing curls only when wet
- applying moisture and styling products on wet hair only
- all this will avoid frizzing and breaking the hair
The goal was more than the cut - it was trust, education, and to get her independent to manage her own hair from then on, specially being a teenager and wanted to do her own hair by herself.
So, we give the hair must needed shape, we still kept the length but put it layers that will give more volume on top an the curls were treated with the right technique for definition and bounce.

First curly cut magic
This client came for her very first curly haircut - long hair that had been weighing her curls down. Because she wanted to keep her lenght as much as possible, I added layers for movement and face framing shape, always using the Deva Cut technique (dry cut), to work with her natural curl patter and bring it back to life and a more round shape.
A leave in conditioner or a moisture cream is essencial to restore moisture to the hair after washing. Then for defenition I finger curl the hair, apply a bit of gel and mousse, removed the excess of water with a towel and dried with a diffuser to reduce frizz and give her curls bounce and volume.
The result? Lovely, bouncy curls and a smile that makes every session worth it

This client wanted to cut her beautiful medium curly hair to a curly bob. However, and especially with curly hair, it's so important to do a DevaCut (a dry cut), reason being, it respect the hair's natural pattern shrinkage, and movement. This technique helps prevent over-cutting in shorter curly styles, allowing each curl to be shaped individually for a soft, bouncy finish and a beautifully rounded bob that works with your curls, not against them.
End result? Balanced volume from roots to ends, a beautifully rounded shape and defined, bouncy curls. Soft face-framing at the front enhances facial features while adding movemnt and flow to the cut.
