Clive Richardson started trading in 1882, at the Gateshead side of the Tyne Bridge, when he created In Disguise, he was joined soon after by Carole, his long suffering girlfriend and eventual wife. The business moved in 1994 with the opening of Magic Box in Percy Street, Newcastle upon Tyne. Clive and Carole were joined by Michael Murray, Graeme Shaw, Gavin Brown and Gill Stephenson, who became partners as the business expanded to the Metrocentre and Northumberland St, Newcastle.

✨🎨 WHAT A LAUNCH! 🎨✨
It’s been a little bit chaotic this morning at Magicbox… but we are absolutely OVERWHELMED by the orders coming in and, more importantly, by all the love, support and positivity we’ve already received! 🥺💖
