Having shared a number of patients over recent years with Kim from Kim Aspin it was a pleasure to finally meet on her visit to observe deep plane surgery.

Surgical results benefit hugely from soft tissue and skin maintenance, this is why collaboration is vital in my world and I’m very fortunate to have many skin and non surgical experts in the Northern eco system 🙏

Last week at our dedicated Facial Surgery Institute The Beverley Hospital we performed four primary face and neck lifts - all deep plane surgeries, yet no two are the same.

There is no single unified ‘deep plane operation’. Many patients believe they’re getting a deep plane procedure… and they may not be.

Across these four patients, we tailored a different combination of treatments:

▪️ Deep neck reduction
▪️ Microfat grafting
▪️ Net sutures (see Patient 1)
▪️ CO2 laser resurfacing
▪️ Eyelid and brow surgery
▪️ Partial reduction of the facial salivary gland (parotid)
▪️ Transposition of the deep facial fat (buccal fat)

No “lift” is ever the same, every patient is unique and there is no ‘set piece’.

Thank you to all four patients for allowing us to share, it helps demonstrate just how much these operations can and should vary.
