She never wanted to go grey. She just wanted to stop fighting it. šŸ¤Ž

When Joanne first came to me in May, she was fed up with the obvious regrowth but didn’t want me to say let’s go lighter either.

She wanted to stay brunette.

So instead of covering every grey, we started blending it into a dimensional brunette that still felt modern and still felt like her.

Last week she came back for appointment number 2 & that before photo is the bit I really want you to look at.

That’s months of natural grey coming through after her first appointment. No solid line. No block of colour growing away from the scalp.

And now we’ve built on it again.

This is exactly what my Hybrid Grey Blend is about.

You don’t have to become grey.
You don’t have to become blonde.
And you don’t have to keep covering your roots every few weeks either. šŸ¤Ž

How I make one style last 6 days

Caption:
One wash. One heat style. 6 days of hair šŸ™ŒšŸ»

Less heat, less time styling and healthier hair while I’m trying to grow it.

Save this for your next wash day & send it to someone whose curls never last šŸ«¶šŸ»

There is no bigger compliment than this šŸ˜‚āœ‚ļø

ā€œChop it off & do whatever you want.ā€

So that’s exactly what I did.

A blunt bob to create thickness, keeping light around the face but adding dimension through the rest to create movement… Absolutely no brief other than I trust you šŸ«¶šŸ»

I bloody love my job šŸ¤

The season has changed… Autumn bronde is officially here & I’m not mad about it šŸ‚šŸ¤Ž

More depth. More dimension. Still blonde.

Who else is ready for the seasonal switch?

Grey blending doesn’t always mean going lighter. šŸ¤Ž

In fact, for this client, going blonder would have made the problem worse.

When we looked properly at her natural growth pattern, she was actually much darker than the colour through her lengths. So rather than chasing the grey with more and more blonde, we needed to bring some of that natural depth BACK.

This first session was really about correcting what was already there.

Yes, I added carefully placed lighter pieces to break through the existing banding, but the biggest change actually came from the lowlights.

Adding depth back through the hair helped reconnect her darker natural colour with her grey, soften the old colour lines and create something that felt much more intentional.

And we were incredibly lucky with how beautifully everything came together in session one. Grey blending is a journey, and I never want to promise an instant transformation when every starting canvas is so different.

But this one? 🄹

The colour was beautiful, but the best part was what it gave her.

The confidence to finally start embracing her grey without feeling like she had to become blonde to do it.

She told me afterwards I’d given her a piece of herself back that had been missing.

And THAT is why grey blending is so much more than hair colour. šŸ¤

Grey blending isn’t about making everybody grey.
It isn’t about making everybody blonde.
It’s about looking at your natural pattern and creating a colour that finally starts working with it, instead of constantly fighting against it.

You don’t want to be blonde… you just want a little more from your brunette. šŸ¤Ž

You love your natural warmth. You don’t want to lose the richness or suddenly feel lighter all over.

You just want more movement.

Soft pieces that catch the light.
A little brightness around your face.
Different tones peeking through when your hair moves.

That’s exactly what dimensional colour can do.

It’s not about changing your natural colour. It’s about enhancing what’s already there and adding interest in all the right places.

So you still feel brunette.
Still feel like YOU.

Just with that little something you couldn’t quite put your finger on. ✨

Save this if you’ve been wanting a change without actually wanting to change your colour.

Style it once. Make it LAST šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

5 minutes of heatless curls before bed = no restyling all week.

6 gym classes, 2 nights out + a heatwave later… still going on day 6 šŸ˜‚

Less heat. Less effort. Better hair.

Save this for your next wash day šŸ¤

Started the day with hopes & dreams of creating ✨THE CONTENT✨

The before.
The consultation.
The foils.
The process.
The little satisfying clips.
The after from every possible angle.

Salon life said absolutely not šŸ˜‚

So here we are… with ONE photo.

Thankfully the one photo I did remember to take was this šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØšŸ¤ŒšŸ¼

A Lived In Blonde Refresh, working with her natural dimension for that soft grow out and finished with the dreamiest golden pearl gloss ✨

Way too good not to post, so she’s having a whole square to herself.

No carousel. No before. No behind the scenes.

Just really bloody good hair šŸ˜‚šŸ¤

We both would have said she was born to be an icy blonde… until we started adding dimension šŸ¤Ž

For years, she loved that cool, white blonde and honestly, it suited her.

Then we started introducing a few really subtle, cool lowlights.

Nothing dramatic. She still wanted to feel light and bright, we just wanted to introduce a little more depth.

And that’s when everything started to shift.

Her skin came alive. Her eyes popped. Her lips popped. Suddenly, that little bit of contrast was doing SO much.

And she loved it.

So appointment by appointment, we’ve gradually started going darker.

Never too much at once. Never taking away all of the lighter tones she loves. Just slowly adding more depth and allowing those softer, lighter pieces to peek through.

Today we added the most depth we’ve ever added and I think we’ve found her sweet spot šŸ˜

She still feels light. She still has those beautiful cooler tones. But now there’s movement, softness and so much more dimension.

And there’s been another BIG change along the way…

When we were scalp bleaching, I would see her around every 6 weeks.

Now I see her around every 4 months.

That’s nearly four colour appointments becoming one.

She still gets the luxury colour she loves, just without needing to be back in my chair every 6 weeks.

Sometimes changing your hair isn’t about suddenly becoming blonde or brunette.

Sometimes it’s just about finding the balance of light and depth that makes everything click.

And for her, this was it. šŸ¤Ž

Save this if you love your blonde but you’ve been thinking about adding a little more dimension.
