Grey blending isn’t just highlights

This is where a lot of people have had it done before & felt like it didn’t work.

Grey blending is different

It’s:
placement & tone
depth & dimension
growth pattern & long term planning.

With my client, and with any grey blend client every section is placed with intention & has a purpose.

To break up the regrowth, soften the line of demarcation & create something that actually grows out well.

Not just something that looks nice for the next 10 days.

She didn’t want to go grey… she wanted freedom

My client didn’t want to stop colouring her hair, quite the opposite actually.

She just didn’t want to feel tied to it or feeling like she had no choice but to colour it.

Always feeling like she had to plan her life around her root top ups, Not feeling like she could do last minute events is the roots were visible.

That’s where grey blending comes in…

We worked with her natural
not against it.

So she can still feel like her hair is done
but without the panic, the pressure
or the constant upkeep.

This isn’t about going grey, it’s about having options.

If this sounds like you this is exactly what I specialise in🫶🏻

If your roots show after 3 weeks… this is why 👇

If you feel like your colour “doesn’t last”… it’s not you

It’s the line of demarcation ❌

My client came to me fed up of seeing that harsh line come through within weeks
and the brassiness that followed not long after.

She wasn’t doing anything wrong,
she just hadn’t been understood.

Grey blending isn’t about covering everything it’s about removing that harsh contrast.

So your hair grows out soft
- not stripy
- not obvious
- not stressful.

If your colour feels high maintenance & harsh this is probably why.

If you’re a blonde & you want to keep your hair healthy & brass free…..

I’d be looking at these….And this is coming from 20 years of being bright blonde myself & as you can imagine being a hairdresser the range of products is massive & even for a hairdresser can be so overwhelming BUT….

Here are my firm favourites which I couldn’t & wouldn’t live without.

If you already use any of these, Tell me your fav’s & why in the comments 🫶🏻

What if you don’t want to be grey?

Grey transformations are absolutely amazing & life changing for some women in the most positive & uplifting of ways…BUT…

What if you have grey & you don’t want to embrace it? What if you still want to be darker? And have a softer approach where they blend & don’t stand out?

This is something I get asked a lot, and the answer is a middle ground ⚖️

Somewhere along the line if you don’t want to embrace the grey but your sick of the constant root touch up appointments and that straight line harsh regrowth you need to comprise and find a middle ground.

Which is what I did with my client, we went from a build of dark permeant colour to a soft bronde balayage.

This was achieved with no dark permanent colour, but the comprise is the the greys are visible but they are softer & blended.

Permanent colour is like your Mac Lipstick it’s full coverage full of pigment & wont budge where as a semi/demi permanent is like your Mac Lip Gloss, it’s translucent adds tone & depth but does show what’s underneath with softness.

And that’s the comprise, the biggest pain point for my client was that harsh line of demarcation from the natural to the dark permanent colour, I erased it as much as possaible with super fine weaves to lighten, then used a semi permanent to blend it to my clients natural colour at the root which deposited tone & depth but also blended it together and bridged the gap from the natural going in to the light.

Can you still see the greys….Yes but not as much and they don’t look as harsh, my client still feels more of a brunette, with a colour she’s very happy with & can now enjoy a longer time inbetween salon visits without feeling conscious about her regrowth.

As my husband tells me all the time…Finding a middle ground & comprising is always the better option 🫠😉

March’in On 🥁

The month of spring, filled with lived in blondes, Brondes and everything in between ✂️

Fulled by breakfast out & Polka Dots not to mention a very large cat obsessed with reformer Pilates & Out door walks 🫶🏻

BUT….My biggest achievement this month is completing my Grey Blending certification with the amazing Rosie Bayliss, I can’t wait for my 1-2-1 Shadow day to bring it all together 📖 🔑

Strong start to Spring 🌺 🫶🏻

LUCKY NUMBER 7️⃣

7 years ago today I opened my home salon 🤍

And honestly… what a 7 years it’s been.

To every single person who has ever sat in my chair whether it was once or whether you’ve been with me since I was 18…YOU are a part of this.

You are the reason my salon is what it is today.
You are the reason my skills have grown, evolved and improved.

You invested in me…
so I could invest back into myself
and that always comes full circle… back to you.

I’ve met the most incredible people, built real relationships & shared so many moments…
the happy ones, the hard ones, and everything in between.

Tears, laughter, honesty… all of it.

7 years ago, I don’t think many would have given me a week.

But I never had it in me to stop.

I had two little girls watching me.
And I needed them to see that when things get hard… you keep going.

I built this for them.
But I kept it going because of you.

Every appointment, every conversation, every bit of trust…It means more than you’ll ever know.

My heart has always been the driving force behind this & it always will be.

So thank you.
For choosing me.
For trusting me.
And being part of my journey 🫶🏻

Here’s to everything that’s still to come 🤍

Low Maintenance don’t mean No maintenance…..

Unless you don’t mind the large growout which my client didn’t mind at all.

We last did a full lived in refresh 18 months ago, so the underneath is 18 months of natural, and if that’s what you like….That’s what you like…

But heading in to spring my client wanted to feel super bright, but also knows that she’s most likely not going to have a full for another 12/18 months.

So with that in mind I made sure that the underneath is striped bright but salon very blended, using a deep tease technique to have a soft and diffused growout.

My client has a partial refresh every 4 months, and I just tailor it to how she likes which is super bright spring summer & then more dimensional through autumn & winter.

Low Maintenance Vs No Maintenance is your choice, I’m just here to create the hair that suits your lifestyle 🫶🏻
