I absolutely 🫶🏻 my job !!
I love hearing different peoples experiences with microneedling, what you liked/didn’t like, what device was used, your downtime, everything ! - so if you’ve had microneedling done ever before pls let me know! I want to know it all !! 😌🧬👹
Microneedling done right >>>>
Deeper needle depth doesn’t automatically mean a better treatment, just like a one-size-fits-all protocol isn’t going to benefit everyone.
An acne scarring protocol will look completely different to a pigmentation protocol, and a pigmentation protocol will be different again to a collagen building or skin laxity protocol.
Needle depth changes. The number of sessions changes. Skin thickness changes. Healing response changes. All of these things (& more) determine the most effective and strategic protocol for each individual client.
I want to work with your skin, not against it. Protocols matter, equipment matters, but most importantly, your practitioner and their education should alwaysssss be the priority 👹🪩🫶🏻

Thank you to this babe Brogs x for documenting the treatment process because the first 24 hours after your SkinPen treatment are CRUCIAL. ✨
Your treatment doesn’t end when you leave the clinic 👹 it has only just begun
SkinPen creates thousands of controlled microchannels in the skin, triggering your body’s natural wound healing response. During the first 24 hours, these channels begin to close, inflammation settles, and the skin starts laying the foundation for new collagen and elastin production.
This is why your aftercare matters so much.
For the first 24 hours:
🤍 Keep your skin clean and avoid touching your face unnecessarily.
🤍 No makeup - this reduces the risk of irritation and bacteria entering the skin.
🤍 Avoid direct sun exposure and wear a hat if you’re outdoors.
🤍 No exercise, hot showers, saunas, steam rooms or swimming - heat and sweat can increase inflammation and irritation. That’s why I tell all clients they just haveeee to get a takeaway, no standing over an oven unfortunately 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
🤍 Only apply the products recommended by your practitioner. Avoid active ingredients such as retinol, AHAs, BHAs and vitamin C unless advised otherwise.
🤍 Stay hydrated and allow your skin to heal naturally.
🤍 Change your pillowcases to fresh new ones.
What you can expect:
✔️ Redness (can feel like a sunburn)
✔️ Warmth
✔️ Tightness
✔️ Mild swelling
These are all normal signs that your skin is responding to treatment.
The results you see from microneedling aren’t created during the appointment, but develop over the following weeks as your skin repairs itself and produces fresh collagen. Looking after your skin during those first 24 hours gives it the best possible environment to do exactly that.
Your aftercare is part of your treatment, not an optional extra. 🤍

…. and the list goes on and on 😌🧬
While you’ll often notice a beautiful post treatment glow after your first session, collagen renewal is a gradual process. Each treatment builds upon the last, allowing the skin to regenerate, strengthen and refine itself from within.
Think subtle, elegant improvements that continue to reveal themselves long after your appointment 🤍

That 7 day glow hits differently 🤩🤍
This treatment was tailored to support overall skin health, improve texture, stimulate collagen production, and enhance that natural glow from within. Depths were carefully adjusted across different areas of the face and neck to ensure a safe, effective, and personalised treatment.
Photo 1: Around 30 mins after treatment
Photo 2: 7 days later
Once the initial redness settles, the skin begins to look brighter, smoother, and more radiant as the healing process gets underway. Results continue to improve in the weeks and months ahead as new collagen and elastin are produced. 🧬✨

Using the correct needle depth is everything in microneedling. Too shallow = limited results. Too deep = unnecessary trauma.
For this microneedling session, I adjusted the needle depth across different areas of the skin to treat each concern safely and effectively:
• Forehead: 0.25mm – gentle work to improve texture + product absorption
• Nose: 0.25mm – focusing on pores and surface refinement
• Cheeks: 1.0mm – targeting deeper concerns like texture + collagen stimulation
• Chin: 0.75mm – working slightly deeper for congestion + scarring
• Neck: 0.25mm – delicate area, always treated with care
Microneedling should always be tailored. It’s not a one-size-fits-all treatment 🤍

My absolutely gorgeous client 💕✨
Photos 1 & 2 take us back to the start of February, when we began her microneedling treatments. Photo 1 is just before her very first treatment, and photo 2 is just 24 hours after. You can see the skin presenting with texture, uneven tone, and a compromised barrier.
Photo 3 was taken immediately after her third microneedling session, she’s superrrr red (👹), but look at how much more even and refined the skin appears.
And photo 4… taken the next day 🥹 honestly makes me a little emosh. With consistency in her treatments and commitment to a simple, supportive AM/PM skincare routine at home, her skin has come such a long way, stronger, healthier, and glowing ✨❤️🩹
