My client tonight was feeling brave and she told me to pick whatever gel polish shade I wanted to put on her nails 🤭

Now I wanted to make sure it’s a colour she’d enjoy, so after finding out what were her favourite colours I opted for the shade Okrrr by and my client was obsessed! 🤩

I love a good before and after photo, it’s rewarding seeing the impact a treatment can have on someone, every scalp is different and every result is different.

When you factor in products and techniques used, results always can vary.

⚡️⚡️Business update ⚡️⚡️
So as many of you know with Kendall closing her business at the salon, I was going to be leaving as well and trying to find a new premises.
However, I have made the decision to rent the salon where Kendall was based, if you know the salon at all, you will know it has the following advantages:

🌿A good location right next to town
🌿Central location being in Newton Abbot
🌿Multiple car parks within walking distance
🌿A good space with the salon having 4x treatment rooms & waiting area

So what I am looking to do is find a couple of self employed people who would like to rent a room from me.
I’ve included some photos of one of the rooms, this is one of the larger rooms, the door leading into this room is within the waiting area, so it is completely private and would be all yours.

Now the room will come completely empty, so you can design it however you like with whatever you like. There is potential for an electric bed, something we could discuss.

The second room which I don’t currently have photos of is smaller, it’s been my room for the last two years but I will be moving into one of the other treatment rooms.

I’m open to discussions with people if they’re interested in renting one of the two rooms I will have available. I feel it would benefit anyone that works in the wellness or holistic industry, whether your business is brand new or you have been in business for a while but are looking to relocate, upsize or downsize.

Finally, there may also be opportunity in the smaller room for someone to perform the Japanese Head Spa treatment, there is a good chance I will have a spare sink if someone was fancying it, again something I’m open to discussing.

One thing I’ve learnt during my journey of doing nail treatments, is that the market is flooded with so many tools! This claims to be good for that, that claims to be good for this, blah blah blah..
If anything, it just makes you feel the need to spend more money, to buy things that you are lead to believe you need.
When in actual fact, most of these tools, one or two will do the job you need it to.

Every tool I use that is stainless steel, so the cuticle scissors, the efile heads, these are all professionally cleaned and medically sterilised, which is why you see them in these little packets and they are sealed, only to be open at your appointment with you sat in front of me.
All disposable items, like the files, the orange sticks, the sanding bands, these are all put in the bin after one use.
Cleanliness is important 🧽

Another thing, when you come to your nail appointment with me you will see I always wear a face mask when doing nails, the amount of dust that is accumulated when removing or debulking is insane, as a therapist, if you aren’t wearing a mask and using a dust collector, all of that dust is entering your airways, and don’t forget, this dust is a chemical 🧪
The products we use on our clients nails are chemicals, so you are inhaling tiny molecules of a chemical everytime you don’t wear a face mask 😷 and use a dust collector, and unfortunately, just using a dust collector does not cut it.

Let’s protect ourselves as therapists by wearing our masks and using our dust collectors, and let’s protect our clients by professionally cleaning and following through with medical grade sterilisation of our tools.

For those of you who have not yet booked your treatment in for July, this is all that remains of my availability.

The summer holidays will begin from the 23rd July so my working pattern will change to mostly evenings during the weekdays, will my usual all day on a Saturday and every now and again I’ll be working a Friday day time.

To secure your appointment during the summer holidays please get booked in now, I only have a limited availability of day time appointments throughout August.

Some photos for you from the Japanese head spa today, one thing I am finding fascinating is the difference in the scalp in terms of how clean it is when you use a sulphate shampoo compared to a sulphate free shampoo, I think I’ll do a post all about this soon!

I’m taking a few days off now so I may be quiet on socials.
