❤️ We’re asking our Gershwins community for help.

A devastating landslide and flash flooding in Nepal has destroyed the villages and homes of the families and friends of people very close to the Gershwins family.

Our lifelong friend Tsering’s brother, Dawa, is currently missing, along with other family members and many others from the local community.

The disaster has also devastated the village of Karmu, a young girl Gershwins has sponsored to attend school. At the moment, we simply don’t know whether Karmu and her family are safe, and we are desperately hoping for news.

Tsering has worked as a trekking guide in Nepal for more than 20 years and knows the area incredibly well. He has already travelled into the affected area twice by helicopter and is now personally helping coordinate people, transport and aid on the ground while searching for Dawa, his family and others who are still missing.

We have set up a GoFundMe to directly support Tsering’s search and relief efforts on the ground.

Gershwins will be making a donation directly to the appeal, and we’re asking our wonderful guests, team, friends and wider Newton Abbot community to join us in supporting Tsering and everyone affected.

Every penny raised will go towards these efforts.

If you can donate, however small the amount, it will make a difference. And if you can’t donate, please share the appeal — reaching more people is another incredibly valuable way you can help.
