🥹Acne Transformation 🥹

This before and after have made me so unbelievably happy! My beautiful client has always had stunning skin with no issues at all growing up ….. until it wasn’t 💔💔

My favourite weekend plans, apparently: take absolutely everything from my skin and then spend the rest of the weekend apologising to it 😂

I LOVE an exfoliation night. Retinoids, acids, resurfacing masks, peel pads, all the good stuff (🚨not all in one go 😂 hurry to add that so you don’t destroy your skin barrier)
❤️But the bit I’m probably even more obsessive about is what comes afterwards.

If you’re going to increase cell turnover, exfoliate, resurface or intentionally challenge the skin, you need to think about recovery too.

So my home skincare cupboard is basically split into two personalities:

Take it off:
Retinoids, acids, exfoliating masks, peel pads. Scrubs

Put it back:
Lipids, hydration, barrier support, recovery masks, growth factors and LED. All the hydration

Because more exfoliation isn’t always more results. Skin needs the raw materials and the recovery time to actually respond well to what you’ve just done to it.

My rule is simple. If I take from my skin, I give back.

And yes, this is genuinely what I consider a good weekend 😂

I can hand you great treatments all day long. What you do with your skin the other 29 days of the month is kind of the whole game.

I can’t stress enough the importance of your home-care. It’s the groundwork , the foundation it literally gives me the building blocks to work with and improve with the clinic treatments 🫶🏼

It is the first place you need to start and it’ll give you the most improvement that you see the quickest, then we can take all of that amazing function and put it to work. 🫶🏼

And …. If the budget is one or the other opt for skincare all day long !!! Any practitioner not advocating for that is not being very ethical 😘

I see so many people who have already tried to get help. They’ve seen their GP, been to dermatology, had the same topical or oral prescriptions more than once, or been put on the contraceptive pill to control their acne. Sometimes there’s improvement, sometimes only temporarily, and eventually they’re just exhausted by the whole thing.

Acne and rosacea are complex. I love having the time to properly sit with someone, go through their skin and their history their lifestyle, and look at the whole picture.

I promise I AM listening. But my fully ADHD brain is simultaneously analysing your skin, changing your routine, wondering what SPF you’re wearing, reminding myself to maintain normal eye contact, then immediately wondering if I’ve maintained TOO much eye contact and now you think I’m completely unhinged.

Meanwhile, you’re probably just trying to tell me what cleanser you use.

There’s never any judgement happening in my head. Just approximately 47 thoughts, 12 skin observations and an unnecessary amount of overthinking happening at exactly the same time.

Life inside my brain is LOUD 😂 No one wants a place in there 😂😂
