Are you an analytically minded person with a passion for precision and a keen eye for detail? We’re looking for a Trainee Ventilation Ductwork Estimator to join our growing team and support the delivery of high quality, competitive tenders.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic engineering environment, contributing directly to the success of our bids and long-term client relationships.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Reviewing enquiry documentation to fully understand project conditions and requirements.
• Logging all received documents and drawings in accordance with QA procedures.
• Quantifying, pricing and labour loading works from drawings or BoQs using our estimating systems.
• Sending enquiries to suppliers/subcontractors to source competitive quotations.
• Saving and maintaining all tender information and quotations within structured estimate files.
• Identifying commercial and technical risks or opportunities within tender scopes.
• Planning and ensuring timely completion of tender documents for submission.
• Producing tender finalisation documents and participating in tender review meetings.
• Preparing Tender Letters of Offer and, when required, contractor proposal documents.
• Working independently on smaller tenders and collaboratively within a team for larger bids.

What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications
• Time served apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline (desirable).
• HNC/ONC in engineering (advantageous).
Skills & Experience
• Excellent organisational and multitasking ability.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Clear, methodical and structured approach to work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

On this day, it started with the arrival of prime steel, galvanized to the highest standards. 🏗️

From there, our skilled team worked meticulously through each stage of the manufacturing process. 🔧 Using state-of-the-art CNC plasma cutters and TDF machinery, we ensure precision at every turn. ⚙️

Our quality checks guarantee that every piece is ready for dispatch, delivering top-tier products to sites across the UK. 📦

Vaughan Engineering Group has recently installed a new cloud-based ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central! 🌥️ This was a significant investment by the Group and was supported by Invest Northern Ireland 🚀💼

Over the past 12 months, we’ve been busy with system setup and testing, training users, and migrating data from our old system, which we’d been using for over 10 years. This involved a lot of extra work from the Finance and Commercial Teams, all while managing their regular tasks. 💪

We went live with the new system at the beginning of February with the help of Eque2 Ltd for all 5 group companies. All data was migrated smoothly, and processing began with minimal downtime. Since then, approximately 2,500 purchase orders have been raised and 6,500 purchase invoices processed.

The new system has brought many efficiencies to the business. 🌟 As it’s cloud-based, it can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection, via laptop, phone, or tablet. Some benefits we’ve seen so far include the use of AI to scan invoices, capturing goods received notes immediately via the app, and easier access to live cost information for the commercial team.

Overall, the implementation has been a success, and a big thank-you goes to all our staff for embracing the changes over the past few months. 🙌 The new system is making things much more efficient, and we expect even more improvements moving forward! 🌟

On Tuesday, 10th September, our team took to the pitch at the Business Fives 5-a-side football tournament at Valley Leisure Centre. ⚽

Competing for the second time, we faced some strong opposition, but the day was filled with excitement, teamwork, and a bit of friendly competition. Events like these offer a unique opportunity to network and build relationships in a dynamic environment.

We're already looking forward to the next match!

As summer draws to a close, we were thrilled to gather our team for a delightful staff BBQ. The weather was on our side, allowing us to enjoy great food and even better company outdoors. ☀️🍔

It's moments like these that remind us of the strength and camaraderie within the Vaughan Engineering Group team.
