📢 A LITTLE SALON ETIQUETTE REMINDER

With the busy season approaching, here’s a reminder about our salon policies.

We’re a small, independent salon with limited space and seating, so please respect our clients, our team, and our environment.

WHO CAN ATTEND?

Appointments are for the booked client only, unless agreed beforehand.

Children with appointments are welcome with ONE parent or guardian. If you’re bringing other children or family members, please arrange for them to enjoy the nearby park or café while the appointment takes place.

Our limited seating is reserved for clients, particularly those having colour treatments that may take several hours. We don’t have a waiting area.

A QUICK WORD ABOUT CHILDREN

The salon isn’t the most exciting place for children, and it can be dangerous. We use bleach, peroxide, hot tools, scissors, and other sharp equipment. Trolleys, chemicals, and people are constantly moving around, so it isn’t suitable for children to wait here for hours if they aren’t booked in.

PETS

I’m allergic to dogs, so pets aren’t permitted in the salon. Sorry!

PLEASE RESPECT OUR POLICIES

We want every appointment to be safe, relaxed, and comfortable. If you or your child aren’t booked in, we may need to politely ask you to leave so we can accommodate our clients and maintain a safe environment.

We’re a small freelance collective, not a waiting room or a place to hang out while someone else has their hair done.

Nothing like a vague but expensive looking brochure to get people's vote.

What a waste of paper and money.

Speaking of the environment, not once has BID collected my cardboard waste in the time I've been open.

Don't get me wrong, dinosaurs are great for the families in town, but nobody is looking at dinosaurs and thinking " I really must get my hair done. "

A re-evaluation of what type of business that contributes to BID would be nice, ones that actually benefit from it.

✨ A little re-introduction… I’m Kirsty, Founder of IGC.

Mum to two teenage boys, dog mum, wife to my childhood sweetheart — and now 49 and heading towards the big 5-0!

Following a major stroke in my early 40s and a remarkable recovery, my perspective on beauty, health and ageing changed enormously. I now work in clinic three days a week, creating a balance that allows me to honour my health and family while still doing what I love most — looking after the wonderful clients who trust me with their skin. 🤍

For me, ageing isn't something we need to fight. It's about looking healthy, feeling confident and still looking like YOU.

I’m officially retiring from answering messages on social media.

I currently have messages coming at me from approximately 17 different places, and apparently I’m expected to remember which app said what.

Nope. SOZ NOT SOZ

I’m genuinely considering going full Y2K and reverting back to a Nokia 3210. Life was much simpler when my biggest concerns were playing Snake and spending 45 minutes making absolutely banging ringtones. 😂
