Not only during the Pandemic time, but in general social media sites allow teens to accomplish many of the important tasks to them offline - staying connected with friends and family, making new friends, sharing pictures, and exchanging ideas. After adolescents, social media participation can also occur with deeper benefits that texted into their view of self, community, and the world. Facebook and similar social media programs allow students to gather outside of class to collaborate and exchange ideas about assignments. Also, excellent health resources are increasingly available to youth on various topics of interest to this population, such as sexually transmitted infections, stress reduction and signs of depression. Adolescents with chronic illness can access Web sites to develop supportive networks of people with similar conditions. However, using social media becomes a risk to adolescents more often than most social media becomes a risk to adolescents more often than most adults realize. Most risks fall into the following categories: cyberbullying, inappropriate content and sexting, lack of understanding of online, privacy issues, internet addiction and sleep disorders. Also, there have been numerous studies exploring the relationship between increased technology use and BMI. Hight-frequency cell phones, this behaviour is associated with decreased cardiorespiratory fitness.

SARS-CoV-2 virus at the beginning of the 2020 year caused an ongoing COVID19 pandemic, which lasts even till now, April 2021. Children less often are sick with this disease, but school closure and parents work at home caused many problems. Children schooled at home have faced different difficulties, and the experience also varied on the family type and incomes. Different specialists from all possible niches (for example, educology, medicine, psychology, social work, sociology) are posting various examples of how it affected the children while schooled at home. The aim of the studies was to evaluate online education on children's health. Based on the studies, there are a lot of recommendations only for health care workers. Unfortunately, little has been said or advised to parent managing and navigating between homeschooling and working remotely while the whole family packed at the same time at home with restrictions for shopping and going outside.

VITAMINS
To supplement or not?
Mineral, vitamins, and anti-oxidant health supplements make up a multi-billion dollar industry in the US alone. This is mostly due to Government calls for sells care, as the expenses for the health care insurance are hight. People are encouraged to take care of their health, by using supplements, adjusting lifestyles, anything that would help them stay healthy. Most importantly fit to avoid lifestyle-induced long term health problems, such as obesity, diabetes and result of that musculoskeletal and cardiovascular problems. Such evidence suggests supplementation is clearly indicated in particular circumstances, but as I mentioned in my previous posts can actually be harmful in other. For the general population, however, supplements have eligible or no direct impact on the prevention of common cancers, cardiovascular diseases, cognitive decline, mortality or any other significant health indicators.
However, particular sub-groups of the population can gain a proven benefit from supplementation. Folic acid has long been indicated as a prenatal supplement due to its assistance in foetal cell division and corresponding ability to prevent neural-tube birth defects. Some leading countries, such as the US and Canada, decided to fortified white flour with folic acid and as a result, had significantly reduced in numbers of congenital spinal birth defects. Women on a low-carbohydrate diet are encouraged to use a prenatal multivitamin, that could make a crucial difference. Not to mention, pregnant and lactating women benefit from additional vitamin D. Elderly people, benefit from additional vitamin D and calcium too, that help to prevent bone fractures and boost the immune system. Zinc and anti-oxidants can maintain vision while deflecting macular degeneration in people who would otherwise be likely to develop this affliction.
Most important is that taking any supplement should not lead people – consciously or not – to the conclusion that supplementation fills in the gaps of an unhealthy diet. Afterwards, leaving their bodies none the wiser that instead of preparing a breakfast of fresh fruits or vegetables and muesli, they popped a tiny capsule with coffee and chocolate. There is evidently no shortcut around the task of buying, preparing and consuming fresh fruit and vegetables every day.

"Natural Flavours"
Have you ever read the information that is on the food in your freezer, refrigerator or kitchen pantry? You are likely to find a simple, innocuous-looking ingredient recurring on many products: "natural flavour." What that natural flavour is, how it got into your food, and where it came from, is the result of more complex processes than you might imagine. Looking at the current ingredients "list of McDonald's" french fries, however, it is easy to see how they overcome this predicament. Aside from a few preservatives, there are essentially three main ingredients: potato, soybean oil, and the mysterious component of 'natural flavour.'
Natural flavour historically entered our diet through the rise in processed foods—those now make up over 90% (and growing) mostly of the American diet. However, as well as representing a burgeoning industry in developing countries such as China and India. Processed foods are essentially any foods that have been boxed, bagged, canned or packaged, and have a list of ingredients on the label. Sometimes, the processing involves adding a little sodium or sugar, and a few preservatives. Often, however, it is coloured, bleached, stabilised, emulsified, dehydrated, odour-concealed and sweetened. This process typically saps any original flavour out of the product. So, of course, flavour must be added back in as well. Most of these "natural sources" are in fact engineered to culinary perfection in a set of factories and plants of the New Jersey Turnpike outside of New York. Here, firms such as International Flavours & Fragrances. Harmen& Reimer, Flavour Dynamics, Frutarom and Elan Chemical isolate and manufacture the tastes that are incorporated in much of what we can eat and drink formed in the labs and test tubes of these flavour industry giants.

Do you have a pollen-food allergy?
What should you be considering before starting any herbal supplement and be cautious and informed?
First, I am going to give you a short theoretical knowledge to understand. So here we go…
Real food allergies always occur in early childhood and present with clinical features of allergy such as rash or anaphylaxis. Those are called type one hypersensitivity reactions and can be life-threatening. Food allergy also is considered in infants with severe eczema. Allergy skin prick test and /or oral food challenge helps identify the cause and establish a diagnosis. People diagnosed in infancy with these types of allergy always are aware of their condition and read any labels of all products that they think to put in their mouth. However, finding a ‘causative’ food for eczema or allergy is scarce in adulthood.
In adulthood, a presentation of allergic looking reaction rarely is due to real type one hypersensitivity allergic reaction—relatively commonly observed, often transient, a condition called pollen allergy or hay fever. A cross-reaction syndrome called pollen-food allergy syndrome is an increasingly common phenomenon seen in adults with hay fever. It is caused by cross-reacting proteins found in pollen, which are similar to proteins found in raw fruits, vegetables or tree nuts. As a result, the body mistakes the food proteins for pollen proteins, and so the immune system reacts to them.
The foods are most likely to cause pollen-food allergy syndrome in birch pollen allergy (the most common form) are raw apple, kiwi fruit, peach, cherry, other stone fruits, hazelnut and almond. The reaction is usually limited to oral itching, tingling or swelling only (hence it is also called oral allergy syndrome), which occurs within minutes of eating the cross-reactive foods. There is usually no systemic involvement or cardiovascular compromise. Another typical feature of pollen-food allergy syndrome is that patients are usually able to tolerate the cooked, processed or tinned forms of the raw foods which cause problems. As heating and processing break down the causative proteins.
People who noticed pollen-food cross-reactions should be aware that similar, but the lesser effect might occur while taking potent herbal supplements. In case of such adverse reactions or effects, consider dose adjustment (take lesser dose) or use of an alternative supplement/medication.
