A summer I really needed 🤍

Looking back through these photos and realising how much life I’ve actually managed to squeeze into the last few months 🥹

Holidays, little trips, Kyan turning TEN 🥺, my work photoshoot, new machines arriving at the clinic… a bit of everything.

But I don’t think I realised quite how much I needed the break until I finally stopped.

Before this summer, I hadn’t had a proper holiday or really taken any time out for almost a year.
I’d moved the business AGAIN after only a year in the previous location, invested in new treatments and training, new equipment, systems behind the scenes and about 748 things that are still in the pipeline 😂

When you run your own business, there’s always something else you could put the money into. Another course. Another machine. Something for the clinic. Something for the kids. Something that’ll make life or work easier.

And somewhere along the way I got into the habit of feeling like I couldn’t justify spending the money OR taking the time for myself.

Especially when you’re a mum and the person everything ultimately comes back to.

I kept telling myself I’d slow down when this was finished… then when that was sorted… then after the next thing.

Plot twist: the list never ends 😂

Eventually I hit a level of burnout where taking some time out wasn’t really optional anymore.

So this summer I did.

I travelled. I made memories. I celebrated my baby turning 10 😭
And had the most amazing time at my cousins wedding!

I enjoyed the things I’ve worked so hard to be able to do, and for once I let myself do it without constantly thinking about what I should be doing instead.

And honestly, I’m just really grateful.

Grateful that the business I’ve spent years building gives me the freedom to have summers like this.
Grateful I can make these memories with my son. And grateful that I finally realised taking time away from work doesn’t mean I care about it any less.

Turns out you can be ambitious, have a million plans for your business AND actually enjoy your life at the same time🤍
