Welcome to A.C.Watts & Son EST 1935

The business of A.C.Watts & Son, Gentlemen’s Hairdressers, Northampton was established at 291 Wellingborough Northampton NN1 4EW in 1935 by Mr.Alfred Charles Watts. Over the course of the next thirty years it was built up to a five chair shop, but has now reduced to three. Alfred remained working at the shop until, at the age of 93, after a short illness, he passed away in 2007. During the Second World War he served with the Royal Artillery Regiment in Algeria before moving on to the campaign in Sicily and Italy. During the period Alfred was away at war the shop was kept open for business. When his son, Derek, finished secondary school he joined the family business in 1961 and the shop was renamed A.C.Watts & Son. After 11 years in the family business Derek left and had a complete career change to road haulage with Carlsberg Brewery Northampton until he returned to hairdressing in 1999. A.C.Watts & Son has served the population of Northampton and surrounding area for the past 85 years and, with the support of its customers, will continue to do so.
