As physios, we can’t guarantee the exact grade of a tear either. To truly guarantee that, we need a scan. What we can give you is a proper assessment and a plan on how to rehab what’s going on.

My client’s doctor skipped all of that, handed him a specific number from a chair, and sent him on his way, too scared to move his own arm.

Apparently x-ray vision is a thing now. If anyone knows how I get hold of it, send help!

We’ve been keeping this secret for a whole month... and we are SO excited to finally share it with you 🔑

After 16 months in Lutterworth and nearly 3 years at our Heart of the Shires clinic near Daventry, we felt it was time to give Lutterworth the clinic it deserves.

A month ago we picked up the keys to our brand new unit and we’ve been busy behind the scenes ever since. But this week? The real building work begins.

More treatment rooms. More services. More space to help more of you.

Follow along for the journey because we are just getting started 👊

Cramping isn’t (just) a hydration issue. 🚫💧

Research increasingly points to neuromuscular fatigue: your nervous system and muscles being under-prepared for the load you’re asking of them.

The real fix? Smart, progressive training that builds capacity for race-day demands.

Rest is not the same as recovery.

Total rest feels like the safe choice. Often it’s the thing that slows you down. Stiffness sets in, confidence drops, and the parts of you that were never injured lose condition too.

Active recovery looks different. Controlled, graded movement. A plan that changes week to week. Not the same sheet for six weeks straight.

Not sure what you should and shouldn’t be doing right now? That’s exactly what an assessment is for.

Your first post-op appointment can feel like a big step. 🤍

We know it’s not just about the physical side, there’s often nerves, uncertainty, and a lot of questions swirling too. That’s why we take it slow. We’ll walk you through what to expect, answer everything on your mind, and meet you exactly where you are.

No rushing. No pressure. Just a calm, supported start to your recovery. 🌿

Most running injuries aren’t really a running problem, they’re a strength problem.

Quads, hamstrings, calves, glutes. If one of these is lagging behind, or lagging behind on one side, that’s usually where the pain ends up.

That’s why we’ve launched the Runners MOT, a strength and running assessment built specifically for runners. We also offer hybrid and online coaching for runners, with strength and conditioning built straight into your plan.

Comment ‘RUNNERS MOT’ below and we’ll send you the details.

Do you feel like you are going to constantly roll over on your ankle?

Is ankle instability something you struggle with?

Try these exercises

👉Single leg standing with inward stress; have badn around your ankle pulling you inwards, stand on that leg and resist the pull whilst remained balance on the one leg; aim for 20s hold x 3 sets.
👉Towel scrunches; can do this in standing or seated, it is literally what it says on the tin, scrunch a towel focusing on that intrinsic foot control; aim for 10s work x 3 sets.
👉Banded calf raise; have a band around yur ankle and the non banded leg slightly offset forwards, this means that backwards leg is doing all the work and has to work harder to work the calf whilst also remaining balanced; aim for 8 reps x 3 sets.
👉Banded eversion; all round great exercise to help strengthen the outside of your ankle; aim for 10 reps x 3 sets.
👉Banded reverse lunge; have a band around the static leg and lunge backwards; aim for 6 reps x 3 sets.

🦵 “I’ve been told it’s just wear and tear...”

This is something I hear from people with knee osteoarthritis all the time.

But here’s the good news: a diagnosis of osteoarthritis doesn’t automatically mean your knee will continue to get worse or that surgery is your only option.

During today’s session, we talked about:
✔️ What osteoarthritis actually is (it’s much more than just “wear and tear”)
✔️ Why movement is one of the best things you can do for your knee
✔️ How strengthening the muscles around the knee can improve function and reduce pain
✔️ The importance of staying active in a way that suits you

Every person’s experience with knee osteoarthritis is different, which is why treatment should be tailored to your goals, lifestyle and symptoms not just an X-ray.

If knee pain is stopping you from walking, exercising, or doing the things you enjoy, you don’t have to just put up with it.

📩 Get in touch to see how physiotherapy could help you move with more confidence.

💬 Have you ever been told your knee pain is “just old age” or “just wear and tear”? Let me know in the comments.

3 squats that’ll land you in my clinic 👇

❌ Knees caving in
❌ Lower back rounding at the bottom
❌ Heels lifting off the floor

Small faults, but under load and repetition, they add up and they’re some of the most common reasons people end up booking a physio appointment.

The fix isn’t complicated, but it is individual. Your ideal squat depends on your hip mobility, ankle mobility, and control not a one-size-fits-all cue.

Not sure which one’s you? Send us your squat video and we’ll tell you what to work on 🎥👇
