You may have seen recent media headlines regarding gel polish. The reports are generally wrong in that gel polish is not being banned, an ingredient trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide (TPO) is banned from EU gel polish as of Sept 2025 and UK gel polish as of Sept 2026.

Fortunately, the companies I use have already taken action. OPI's GelColor line has been TPO-free since July 2024. CND's gel products have also been TPO-free since 2024. Gelish has already shifted to TPO-free formulas for compliance with the European Union ban on TPO.

The ban follows a somewhat dubious study where TPO was fed to male rats!

My advice:
Do not eat gel products containing TPO, especially in large amounts, (like a tub a day for 10 days). If you do, you may end up like these poor male rats! It affected their fertility!

New pedicure station built. Tried it out yesterday! One small modification to be made following client feedback, but otherwise so much better for clients and me than previous set up.
