Contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of my waxing clients so far have actually been cis men.

When I set up Root & Rune as an ungendered, anatomy-based studio, I wanted to create a space where absolutely anyone could feel safe and comfortable. Honestly, seeing how many men have booked in has been a little surprising to me too—but not in a bad way at all.

Waxing, especially intimate waxing, requires a huge amount of vulnerability and trust. I am genuinely so grateful that people put that trust in me, and that I can provide a private, judgment-free space that helps them feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. It really means the world to know that my male clients feel relaxed, respected, and looked after here.

There’s still such an unnecessary stigma around male grooming, but smooth skin and comfort aren't gendered. Whether it's a full back, chest, or a complete intimate reset, taking care of yourself is just self-care.
