When every rain mac had a scarf threaded through the lapel and of course it HAD to clash with the sofa .
A heady mix of the housemartins , Madonna , erasure and Feargal Sharkey played on your Walkman until the batteries ran out and it sat redundant because you couldn’t afford more .
Clarins was the height of sophistication but only in the form of free samples and a Friday night out, meant a nip into Boots en route to spray Georgio Armani or Amarige .
You’d walk there and back again just for fun and your knees never ached .
Why do I look 45 though ?!
