The Winter Awakening Ritual is a luxurious 120-minute full-body treatment created for clients who feel cold, heavy, tired or emotionally low during the darker months.

The experience begins with gentle exposure to a 10,000-lux daylight lamp to support alertness and the body’s natural sleep–wake rhythm. This is followed by Brazilian lymphatic drainage—a rhythmic massage designed to encourage fluid movement and reduce the feeling of puffiness or heaviness.

A warm botanical body mask is then applied to hydrate and soften the skin. The client is wrapped comfortably in a full-body thermal cocoon with warm towels, while heated hand and foot therapy and a scalp, neck and shoulder massage create a deeply comforting sense of warmth and relaxation.

The ritual finishes with a slow unwrapping and nourishing body products, leaving the client feeling lighter, warmer, restored and reconnected.

It is designed to support winter wellbeing and complement appropriate care for seasonal affective disorder (SAD); it does not diagnose, detoxify or treat the condition medically. Clients with eye conditions, light sensitivity or photosensitising medication should obtain medical advice before using bright-light therapy.

I’m Mara—a Portuguese woman, a mother of four boys, and the heart behind Face & Body Haus.

There are parts of my story that have shaped me deeply, but not everything meaningful needs to be explained publicly. Some chapters are sacred. They belong quietly to the person who lived them.

What I can share is what those chapters taught me.

They taught me that a person can look completely composed while carrying an entire world within them.

They taught me that the body often expresses what words cannot—that exhaustion can live beneath strength, tension beneath a smile, and a longing to feel whole beneath the desire to simply look better.

That is why I never see only a face or a body in front of me.

I see the person within it.

My hands meet the body where words sometimes end—with intention, presence and care. Every treatment I create is an invitation to release, to soften and to reconnect with the parts of yourself that life may have asked you to neglect.

You do not need to tell me your whole story to be treated with tenderness.

You do not need to explain why you are tired.
You do not need to justify needing care.
You do not need to arrive as the strongest version of yourself.

You are allowed to simply arrive.

Face & Body Haus was created from the belief that true transformation is not about becoming someone else.

It is about removing the weight, tension and noise that have taken you away from yourself.

It is about returning to your body without judgement.
Returning to your softness without guilt.
Returning to the woman who has always been there beneath everything she has had to carry.

I may never share every chapter that created the woman I am today—and I don’t need to.
