My goal = natural hair health

I have had hair extensions continuously since I was 21 🤯 I used to get a full head of highlights roughly every 12 weeks. My hair was broken and damaged. I NEEDED hair extensions vs NOW I just want them 🤣🤣

How did I get this far?

☁️ I only now get a quarter head of colour every 4-6 months, my hair extensions do the rest of the work.

☁️ Good quality products - I never used to buy salon professional products. I have now tried and tested many to find what works for my hair.

Hair extensions aftercare is everything 💁‍♀️✨

Here’s my go-to routine using my essentials:

🧴 Shampoo – I always use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo to cleanse without stripping moisture, keeping both my natural hair and extensions hydrated and healthy.

🧖‍♀️ Hair Mask – My weekly deep treatment! This restores moisture, prevents dryness, and keeps my extensions and my natural hair feeling soft and nourished.

🫧 Conditioner – Applied mid-length to ends to keep everything smooth, tangle-free, and silky without weighing down the roots.

🔥 Heat Protectant – A must before styling! Helps shield my hair and extensions from heat damage, preventing dryness and breakage.

💧 Hair Oil – A small amount on the ends adds shine, reduces frizz, and keeps extensions looking sleek (less is more!).

🪮 Proper Hair Brush – Using a soft bristle brush helps prevent pulling, breakage, and keeps everything tangle-free.

🌬️ Dry Shampoo – My go-to between washes! Keeps roots fresh without overwashing, helping extend the life of my extensions.

How did we achieve this look? 🧐⬇️

By carefully colour matching the extensions to blend seamlessly with my client’s natural hair, while also planning ahead for how her colour will grow out over time. A soft root drag and a mix of tones help keep everything looking natural and low-maintenance.

I added layers to improve the blend and create movement, especially important as my client’s natural hair has some chemical and heat damage. This helps the extensions and natural hair work together more seamlessly.

Our long-term goal is to reduce the need for frequent colour appointments and shift the focus towards improving hair health. The extensions help disguise regrowth, allowing us to stretch out colour appointments while we work on restoring the condition of her natural hair.

An added bonus, her extensions hold style longer, and she’s already washing her hair less, which means reduced heat usage too.

She’s just had her first refit, has cut down on washes (used to be daily or every other day) and hasn’t needed a colour appointment during this time.
