Do you know who built the skincare on your bathroom shelf?

Most of us don’t. And it matters more than you might think.

I’m proud to say Louise Thomas Skincare is a women built brand. I created it as a skin therapist, from the treatment room, for women who want honest guidance and skincare that genuinely works.

On Monday 12th October, I’ll be at British Beauty Week’s Industry Day with Buy Women Built and BritishBeautyCouncil.

Louise Thomas Skincare is one of 52 women built beauty brands featured in an immersive installation celebrating the women behind the brands you buy.

The Buy Women Built mark tells you a brand is founder-led and built around its customers. 74% of women say they’d be more likely to choose a product carrying it. Because when you know who built something, you get to choose who you back.

If you’re at the BritishBeautyCouncil Industry Day, please come and find me. I’d love to say hello and talk skin.

If you’re not, look for the mark. Every time you choose a women built brand, you help decide which businesses grow next.

Thank you for backing us. It means a great deal 💫

October is a really good time to look at your skin and ask what it actually needs.

As the weather changes, you may notice more dryness, sensitivity, dullness or changes in texture. Rather than waiting until January to overhaul everything, start now!

A few consistent changes to your skincare, nutrition and daily habits over the next three months can make far more difference than a January quick fix.

Think of October as your head start. Your January skin will thank you for it. 🤍

49 yesterday. 🤍
And if I’m honest, 49 feels like a bit of a milestone.

This year hasn’t been the easiest. A neck injury forced me to slow down in ways I didn’t necessarily choose, and it’s made me think a lot about how I look after myself — not just when things go wrong, but every day.

I’m feeling incredibly grateful though. Grateful for my health, for the people around me, for my work, my family, and for the things that bring me back to myself.

I’m also learning to let go.
Let go of what doesn’t serve me anymore. Of expectations, habits, situations and perhaps even some relationships that no longer feel right. Not with bitterness or anger — just with the understanding that making space for what is right matters.

I want to keep making positive choices for myself. To move more. Get outside more. Spend time in nature. Notice the little things (and yes, I’m still that slightly nerdy woman who gets ridiculously excited about spotting a bird 😂🐦).

To find the things that ground me.
And to be really intentional about the people I choose to surround myself with — the good ones who make you laugh, challenge you, support you and let you be completely yourself.

Because the more I look after myself, the more I have to give to the people I love, my clients and the business I’ve built.

So here’s to 49.
Less noise. More nature.
Less expectation. More intention.
Less of what drains me. More of what fills me up.
I’m not starting over.
I’m simply moving forward — with a much clearer idea of what feels right for me now.
And that feels pretty good. 🤍

THE GLOW EDIT EVENT | Skin. Strength. Science. ✨

📍 Sunday 8 November | 9.30am–4pm

Places are intentionally limited. Link in bio to book your place.

More than a wellness day.
The Glow Edit is about giving you the knowledge, tools and support to make meaningful changes to the way you care for your skin and body, long after the day itself.

Together, Louise Thomas Skin Care and Pilates East will bring their expertise in skin health, strength, movement, hormones and ageing well into one intimate day designed around you 💫

And importantly, it doesn’t end when you leave.

Everyone who joins us will become part of our private Glow community for the following six weeks, with continued support, expert guidance, Pilates and skin-health content, and the accountability to actually put what you’ve learnt into practice.

Because this isn’t about a one-day quick fix.
It’s about understanding your skin and body better and feeling supported to make changes that last. 🤍

Could you be one of our Healthy Ageing Project women? 🤍

We’re looking for a small group of women aged 35–65 to take part in our 12-week Healthy Ageing Serum Project.

We want to hear from women with different skin types, skin tones and experiences of ageing - women who are interested in understanding their skin and exploring a different approach to healthy ageing.

You’ll receive a full-size Hero Serum #1 Healthy Ageing to use consistently for 12 weeks.

In return, we’ll simply ask you to tell us honestly about your experience through three short feedback forms at weeks 1, 6 and 12.
That’s it.

We’re not looking for perfect skin or perfect results. We want the good, the bad and the ugly. We want to know what you notice, what surprises you and whether you genuinely think the serum makes a difference to your skin.

You don’t need to be a skincare expert, have a following or create content online. We’re looking for real women with real skin who are curious enough to take part.

Interested?

DM us and tell us:
• Your age
• Your skin type
• A sentence or two about why you’d like to take part

We’ll select a small group of women who we feel are right for the project.

12 weeks. Real women. Real skin. Honest feedback.
UK only.

(You’ll need to be happy to use the serum consistently for the full 12 weeks and complete all three feedback forms🤍 )

Is your skin already noticing the change in season? 🍂

Two changes I recommend to my clients as we move into autumn:

1. Reassess your moisturiser.

If your skin starts to feel tight after cleansing, looks duller or feels more sensitive, it may be telling you it needs more. Drier skin lacks oil, so you may need a richer moisturiser as temperatures drop and the heating goes on.

2. Review your whole routine.
If your skin is becoming drier or more reactive, you may want to reduce or temporarily pause frequent exfoliating acids or other actives that are causing irritation.

At the same time, autumn can be a good time to gradually reintroduce ingredients such as retinoids if you reduced them over summer.

You don’t need to change everything. Look at what your skin is telling you and make a few considered seasonal adjustments.

A slightly more personal one from me today, but one that I think is really important to share ❤️

Building this brand has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done, but what you see on here is only a fraction of what goes on behind the scenes.

So, here’s a little bit of the reality behind Louise Thomas Skin Care… 👉🏼

Photos from Louise Thomas Skin Care's post 03/09/2026

September always feels a little like a fresh start to me. Back to school, back to routine and a good time to take stock of our overall health, including our skin health.

And with the weather seemingly changing overnight, now is a really good time to look at your skin and ask: what does it actually need right now?

Take a look at what’s in your skincare routine. Is your skin feeling tighter? A little drier? More sensitive or dull than it did a few weeks ago?

You don’t need to overhaul everything for autumn. Often, one or two considered adjustments to hydration, moisturising or exfoliation are enough to better support your skin as the temperature drops.

Swipe through for the changes I’d be thinking about now as a skin health expert. 🍂

5 signs your skincare isn’t working for your skin.

1. Redness
Persistent redness after applying a product isn’t normal. It’s your skin telling you something is aggravating it.

2. Breakouts
New & repeated breakouts after introducing a product are a sign your skin is reacting, not purging. Know the difference.

3. Peeling
Some gentle flaking during an active treatment can be expected. Consistent peeling is not, it means your barrier is compromised.

4. Tightness
Skin should never feel tight after cleansing or moisturising. Tightness means moisture is being stripped, not supported.

5. Stinging or burning
A brief tingle is one thing. Stinging or burning means a product is not suitable for your skin - full stop.

If your skin is showing any of these signs, stop. Simplify your routine. Let your skin settle. reset & restore it for one month then gently reintroduce.

The right skincare should never hurt. It should make your skin feel calm, comfortable and looked after. Let’s not adapt the ‘ no pain no gain’ attitude in skin care too.
