No hugging: are we living through a crisis of touch? 26/02/2019

Did you know pregnancy interferes with the connection between your muscles and the way they communicate with your brain. Coordination becomes lost (for various reasons) and this doesn't automatically rebalance and align after birth. Typical and common exercises DO NOT automatically reconnect the body and techniques are needed to help engage and strengthen from within. If you or someone you know has recently had a baby, this course is essential to optimise the health and wellbeing of the postnatal body. My next BabyFit Postnatal Recovery course starts on Wednesday 7 June (suitable from 6 weeks, babies welcome) at Thorpe End Village Hall. Please visit www.babyfit.me.uk/book-now to secure your place.

Research has shown that massage on the abdominal area can improve bowel function. Relax on your back (you might find a pillow/cushion under the knees helps to relax more) and using a flat hand massage your belly in a clockwise motion. Moving clockwise follows the workings of the intestine, which can help digestion. You may even hear it working with rumbles and grumbles!
