ZLT | MONTHLY YOUNG ATHLETE MOT
Another month, another Young Athlete MOT for ZLT. 💪⚽️
Regular maintenance is an important part of supporting young athletes as they train, compete and develop.
The aim isn’t to wait until something hurts.
It’s about regularly checking in with the body, working on mobility, movement, muscle tension and recovery, and helping keep the athlete moving well throughout the season.
For young footballers, consistency matters on the pitch AND in their recovery.
Move well. Recover well. Keep developing.
🌍 FROM NEW ZEALAND 🇳🇿 TO ANKH RECOVERY & PERFORMANCE CENTRE 🇬🇧
It’s always a pleasure when elite athletes travel thousands of miles and still make time to come and see us at ANKH Recovery & Performance Centre. 🤝🏽
This time, we had the pleasure of welcoming the New Zealand Weightlifting Team back into the clinic ahead of their major competition in Scotland — David Liti, Tui-Alofa Patolo and their coach Tina Bell. 🇳🇿🏋🏽♂️🏋🏽♀️
For us, this is what athlete recovery and performance support is all about.
At elite level, the difference can come down to the smallest margins. Heavy training loads, international travel, competition preparation and the physical demands of Olympic weightlifting all place huge demands on the body.
Recovery isn’t an afterthought.
It’s part of performance.
Every treatment was tailored to the individual athlete rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
Because when you’re preparing athletes competing at the highest level, their treatment needs to be specific to them, their training demands and where they are in their competition cycle.
David Liti is a two-time Olympian and multiple Commonwealth Games medallist, having previously won Commonwealth gold in 2018 and silver in 2022. He represented New Zealand at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 before returning to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2026.
And what a competition it was…
David went on to take GOLD 🥇 for New Zealand in the men’s +110kg weightlifting final at Glasgow 2026, finishing with a 389kg total and a decisive 223kg clean & jerk. 🇳🇿🏆
Tui-Alofa Patolo also represented New Zealand in the women’s +86kg category in Glasgow, having recorded a 244kg total earlier in 2026.
It’s a privilege to play even a small part in the preparation and recovery of athletes operating at this level.
Different country. Different competition. Same commitment to performance. 🌍
Thank you to David, Tui-Alofa and Tina for continuing to trust ANKH Recovery & Performance Centre with your athlete recovery.
And congratulations to the New Zealand team on Glasgow 2026. 🇳🇿👏🏽
