As a new season of motherhood is now here, with both of my children in school, my business now approaches a new season too.
I have built my beauty business from the ground up with two children very close in age. This meant I could not work as many days as I used to, if I did something would have to give.
My business or time with my children. I chose to split my time and stopped wondering where my business would be if I had more hours to pour into it.
Women in business and mothers in business are two seperate entities, you can't tell me any different.
It took some time for me in the beginning to set boundaries, price accordingly and put systems in place.
At one time I would work all day, collect both children from the child minders, put them to bed and then go back to work for my evening clients.
I was working like I wasn't a mum, I was tired...alot!
Something had to give, I took my days down to 3 and mapped out my business so that it worked around my family. No regrets.
Could I make even more money by working more days? Absolutely, will I do that? Absolutely not.
In my business specifically, I hold space for my clients, I am constantly thinking about what my clients need, along with the preparation for the day, the cleaning inbetween clients and the end of day close down.
This is not something I would want to do 5 days a week, who came up with Monday to Friday 9-5 anyway? Probably a man π
How I work, and the days I work ensure that each client gets my full attention, and I stay enjoying my work π©·
When I see someome post their 9am to 9pm day with 12 clients, that is not the vibe, would you want to be their last client of the day? I wouldn't π
So my days and hours won't change, but with both children now in school, I have days off in the week to do whatever I like, sometimes selfcare, sometimes catching up on admin and most definitely working ON my business.
So if another person asks me if I'm working more days now because both children are school, my answer is no. Us women are busy as it is, my days off start now.
New season is here β¨οΈππ»π
Always worth it...
How about education that changes how you treat clients, not just another certificate?
The right education pays you back every time a client walks through your door.
You have the qualifications but do you have the skills?
The best facial starts before you even touch the client's skin, a thorough consultation is a skill in itself.
Learning from someone who's already built the business you want is faster than trying to figure it all out yourself.

I often get asked, "which is your favourite facial"
And honestly I love how diverse each treatment can be, but my favourite?
A brand new client who gets to experience my treatment. I love to see the change in their skin texture as I move through the treatment, the glow, the relaxation, the drop in shoulders, the loosening of the jaw, the slower breathing, I notice it all β¨οΈ
I don't take on new clients very often but I am always ready to create them a beautifully bespoke facial π€
And to my OG clients that have their regular treatments with me, you're the best π€

It's basically therapy in the treatment room, but you don't actually have to share anything π€
With all the tools, products and certificates in the world, a client will always remember how you made them feel above anything elseπͺ
Absolutely cooked from running a busy facial column, being a mum to a 4 and 5 year old, my chef job, my cleaning job, my admin job, my fiance job, my friend job, my gardening job, my launderette, my kids personal PA, but I'll still find new ways to stay 1000% busy π
Anyone else like this?

This crazy heat can leave your skin feeling dehydrated, tight and more sensitive than usual!
Here's how to keep it happy and hydrated:
π§Drink plenty of water throughout the day and try to drink a full glass of water as soon as you wake up, you've been sleeping all night....you WILL be dehydrated, and so will your skin
𧴠Apply a hydrating serum before your moisturiser (think hyaluronic acid) to damp skin.
β¨ Lock that hydration in with a moisturiser and facial oil (Tropic Elixir of course)
βοΈ Never skip your SPF 30-50, even if it's cloudy.
π§’ Wear a hat and sunglasses when you're out in peak sunshine.
βοΈ If your skin feels hot, soothe it with a cooling face mist or keep your skincare in the fridge for an extra-refreshing treat.
