I always get asked why I aspirate when I’m injecting dermal fillers, this is my first flash back I’ve had and it can be quite a scary thing to see when you’ve just started out, why is it important that we aspirate? Importance of Aspiration:
Aspiration is a safety measure to help minimize the risk of injecting filler into a blood vessel. Injecting filler into a blood vessel can lead to serious complications like vascular occlusion (blockage of blood flow), tissue necrosis (tissue death), and even vision loss if the retinal artery is affected.
Always make sure your practitioner is complications trained to deal with any complications that may arise during treatment ❤️
