I led a wonderful heart-opening yoga class last night, covering for the lovely Namasyoga at her beautiful new studio in Newthorpe. We all left floating on air 💕 Mas has been a wonderful friend and mentor to me & I’m forever grateful 🙏

Hi everyone my name is Alys 🌸
A little info about me 🌸

📚I work in a library and have piles of books at the side of my bed, my desk, my dining room. I love talking about books and hearing about everyone else’s favourites too.

🧘‍♀️I have a ‘bad’ back that flares up a couple of times a year and has done since I was a teen. It was this that first brought me to a yoga class at the age of 21. Yoga has since strengthened my body and has helped me to better understand the pain & recover faster using breath and movement.

🫦I have a fear of public speaking and teaching at the front of class still makes me SO nervous, so forgive me if I mix up my left and right - or wrists and ankles!

🍷I gave up alcohol at the age of 45 (27/12/2021). I love that I can get up clear, fresh and early to practice, read, and cuddle the dog before everyone else gets up.

🥋I’ve recently started Karate, it’s difficult to be a complete beginner at something at the age of 49 - but I think I’ve learned a lot about myself in the process already so bring it on (thanks Burnett Academy).

If anyone is looking for a gentle, grounding yoga class that’s truly beginner‑friendly, I’m running a session this Thursday morning and would love to welcome a few more people in.

This class is perfect for you if you:

- worry you’re “not flexible enough”
- want a calm hour just for yourself
- prefer a slower, more supportive style of yoga
